I signed up to be a rep for ACN. Too bad, they didn't share all the info about how to get paid and exactly what I had to do, until after I paid the $499. The residual income you make, is mere pennies. You have to meet the bonuses to make money, and that's almost impossible. Now, I am trying to get my money back for the worthless "kit" they sent ($50)... haven't received the money yet.

Why did I want to quit being a rep? I could sign up customers no problem, it's just ACN Customer service couldn't retain them. I had 4 different situations where my customers (who didn't know eachother, so couldn't collaberate) had rude service when they called to ask a question. ACN was still charging them after they had switched to a new phone service. That and my customers bills ended up being more than we thought it would be, hidden charges. Made me look like a fool, since I was the one selling it to them.

Bad experience all together! My advice, don't lose your money. Don't be a rep and don't be a customer.

OKAY SURE

AUTHOR: Nicholas San Francisco - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 28, 2007

First off that isnt true, I have been on the ACN service for 9 years and have never had a problem with customer service problem and as a matter of fact I recently got involved with ACN just a couple months ago and I have recently had a customer who was getting over charged for international calls because they forgot to sign up for the discounted rates and you know what ACN did.

They credited all the money back even though the customer never signed up for dicounted rates at the beginning. The amount was a few hundred dollars.

As far as your experience as a rep. Take a look in the mirror. I don't care if I got paid 2 cents a customer it is still real residual income. Every investment has a startup cost. If you were an entreprenuer you would realize that.

I come from the real estate industry and spend nearly $400 per appraisel before I purchase a property. That doesn't mean I am going to make my money back, it's a risk like anything else. You just had the wrong leadership. Within 3 months I literally have an organization in 5 states and now expanding into Canada.

I agree with ACN being a rip off

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 01, 2007

My friend/roommate from college dragged me into signing with ACN. My roommate's "friend" who works for ACN told her about the company which got her very interested, mainly because she thought she was going to make a lot of money in one month.

We went to one of the "meetings" that was scheduled at a certain time at a hotel. The people involved with ACN started their meeting about an hour late, which I thought was very unprofessional. During their meeting, they showed a video where people were happy and screaming. After the video, they talked about the company, and made it seem as if you can make thousands of dollars per month, for a $499 license fee.

My roommate signed into the contract without even reading it because she assumed that the representative told her everything that is involved. The guy told her that the $499 is refundable within 30 days, which on the contract states 10 days.

I also signed into the contract and looking back at it, I had no clue why! I had to recruit my own friends and even their family members into switching to ACN phone service. Most of them said no because they were already happy with their service. I lived in a dorm filled with rich people (because we had our own bathrooms and maid services), therefore, they were not interested in making extra money. I actually had to find people who were broke to be interested in ACN. I noticed the ACN representative was rude and had unprofessional work ethics.

I kept on going to the meetings that they set up, and they show the same video of people being happy and going crazy. I was already tired of the whole company's lies and unprofessional matter. I decided to call the representative who got me into signing the contract. I repeatedly told him that I no longer wanted to work for the company and he continually tried in talking me out of quitting. His attempts did not work and he would not shut up after I told him many times that I do not want to work for the company. He then snapped at me over the phone because he could not get me to stay after his attempts. All he said was "all you need is one more customer, just one more", and it was getting annoying and I still said NO.

Luckily, I got my money back and it was after 10 days. Problem is that I only got $449, not the whole $499. I was only eligible for the other 50 if i shipped the stupid ACN kit back. I did that, and it took them forever to send my $50 check. They claimed that they sent my $50 dollar check to my address #1, but for months I have never received it. I called in and for them to reprint a check, they deducted $20, therefore, it was only a $30 check and I had that sent to address #2. When I received my $30 check, there was also another check that was $50, the $50 that they said was sent to address #1, when it was actually address #2.I decided to cash both checks because I definitely deserved all of the money just because ACN ripped me off and wasted my valuable time. Days later, ACN went into my bank account and canceled the $50. They should have canceled the first check when they charged me for a reprint check fee for the second check! I no longer cared about the money anymore because I got most of it back.

My roommate on the other side, did not get her $499 back at all. She called the representatives and told them that I got my money back after 10 days, and they told her that was impossible. She later got over the money because ACN was just too stupid too deal with.

After quitting,I found out that ACN representatives goes to high school campuses to recruit people! The guy that recruits at my college campus went to another one! A semester later, I find out that a friend is recruiting for ACN because she recently became an ACN rep. They told her to gather as many potential candidates as possible. So the cycle of bad experiences and trying to scam people continues. And remember my roommate's "friend" who works for ACN, he hasn't even talked to her since she left. Some friend.

You can make money or you can make excuses...

AUTHOR: Jen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 30, 2007

but you can't do both at the same time.

Look, I don't know anything about ACN's customer service. The 40 or so times I have dealt with them, they've been very polite, save for one or two morons. But I've had worse customer service from SUREWEST (my local phone company who illegally is refusing to give up prefixes). And don't get me started on Verizon. You want to talk about "double billing"? Unbelievable.

But as for ACN as a business venture, I revert back to my original statement. "You can make money or you can make excuses, but you can't do both at the same time." That statement comes from Jeremy Rose, RVP with ACN. At 19 years old this guy was working at a fish restaurant. He got invited to an Excel meeting and couldn't even afford the $5 to get in. Jeremy became a millionaire doing business with Excel, which he said was a great company until they sold themselves. Jeremy was still making money while Excel was going under. Finally he cashed in his chips and in his early 20's figured he was doomed to retire. Then he got a call from the ACN co-founders. Two and half years later (after making it to RVP in 6 months) 32 year old Jeremy Rose, my personal friend & mentor, is killing it with ACN. And let me tell you, NO ONE works harder than that man in ACN. I've only been in the business for 7 weeks. I've already promoted, I've already seen money.

Look, I got approached by Shaklee, Melaleuca, Primerica...I know some people who are really working it in those businesses. I think the first two companies are legit and I think Primerica is a JOKE and people should avoid it at all costs!! I'm glad I did because everyone I personally know who signed up with Primerica got burned in their first 3 months. So what's my point. My point is that I have been around long enough to know what works and what doesn't. ACN works, at least for now. As Donald Trump says about ACN, "You have the opportunity to market breakthrough technology before it hits critical mass." Obviously it won't be like that forever, but for now, it is!!

YES, Donald Trump is endorsing our company!! Love him or hate him, you know he's successful and he's not going to put his name out there for just anyone.

I too worked at the ACN call center. I can say that this company is a hack job. They don't send out bills for months and shut your service off and then you have to pay the restoral fees plus a ton of money to get your phone back on. They can't keep employees b/c they fire everybody b/c we don't handle calls fast enough or b/c the call took too long. Oh and when customers want to speak to a supervisor...we just transferred to another employee, you never get a supervisor..the sups. are too busy doing absolutly nothing except chit chatting while we had to take all the beatings over the phone. As far as the reps go, don't do it, it IS a pyramid scheme and you WILL lose your money. Why pay 500 dollars to give the upline guy while you do the work and get nothing...duh. They are losing money anyway and ACN will soon go bankrupt. They just aren't an honest company, don't sign your family up for this you guys or your friends, or soon you won't have any.

#5 UPDATE EX-employee responds

ex customer service rep

AUTHOR: Dd - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 19, 2006

I worked for ACN as a customer service representative at their call center in Gwinn, Michigan for 2 years and that was 2 years too long. As call center employees we were coached on how to get people to stay with the phone, internet or energy services. We were also taught how to double bill customers and were told that it was perfectly legal.

While I was an employee, I made the big mistake of being nice to the Human Resources manager. Next thing I knew I was arrested and dragged out of the center and told I was "stalking" this b***h. I had to get an attorney to get my name cleared. All the time I was allowed back at work but could not be within 100 feet of her yadayadayada.

Finally I had my day in court and she confessed that she fabricated all the accusations so she could get attention. Her co-worker in HR committed suicide. Rumor had it that it was due to this woman and what she was doing to employees.

Guess what? I lost my job after all because I asked corporate office in Farmington Hills to clear my file . They wouldnt saying that I was now "retaliating".

This person is still working there and hiring people.

If you ever are considering working for ACN in ANY capacity or having their services, I hope you will really thing about it.

They are scam artists, especially corporate, who will do whatever it takes to rip people off. No wonder they have a high turnover rate especially at their call center.

A comment to "What is it"

The reason you never see comments from folks who are making the big money with the companies they represent is because they have better things to do with themselves than spend all day browsing chat forums looking for something to argue about.

What Is It

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 23, 2004

Everytime someone posts some complaint about one of these companies I always expect to hear a rebuttal from a whole slew of newbies. ACN, Amway, Quixstar, Excel, Prepaid Legal, and so on. It always begins with, just because... or if you had only..., then goes on to tell them how they should have run their business. I thought that was what their upline was for. "I've only been in the business"(fill in the blank), a short time, or 6 months or some other time frame, but then they go on to say, things are looking up, or I'm getting there, or I'm on the road to success. We never hear from the big guys, who are successful. Wonder why?

The "honest" company name made me lose my customers because of rude customer service and improper billing. So, in the mud they go...

AUTHOR: Paige - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 23, 2004

if you fully read my response, i had no problems getting customers and even finding recruits. so, in your terms, i could "hack it." it was retaining the customers after they received their first bill or after they spoke to customer service. that's where the problem was!

and, i most certainly will let a company's reputation go on the line when i don't see the value, when i feel that i have been had, and when i do a little research and find out i am certainly not the only one. because many people are looking into this job opportunity and should know both sides. and i hope i can either help someone to look into this more thoroughly, or prevent them from losing money they might need for more important things... like putting dinner on the table and providing for their family... $500 is a lot to lose.

good luck with it though, i hope you don't come to regret your decision like i have... and like a lot of people on this website have.

Why would you drag an honest company's name through the mud because you didn't see the value?

AUTHOR: Ben - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 22, 2004

In response to the above statement about ACN. I would like to say first and foremost, the reason you are probably not successful at anything is because you don't take the time to understand it.

I am a semi-new rep who has nothing but wonderful things to say about this company. They are honest, ethical and provide an excellent way to improve the quality of your life or just supplement your income.

The fact is the residual income does take time to build and that was told to me in a very honest manner prior to signing up...The bonus money is awarded for the completion of tasks which obviously require effort. If you are not smart enough to know by now...There are no legal get rich quick schemes...To any people thinking about doing the business...Do it if you are serious and want to build real wealth for your future...I think its not so much the company as much as who you ask...Obviously if you ask an idiot about this business, you will get an idiotic answer...Sorry to be so blunt but give me a break, quit wining and quit destroying other people's dreams because you couldn't hack it...
