There's a new scam, possibly involving your credit card number!!!! My Citi MasterCard was charged $1.99 on 2/5/05, then $39.95 on 2/8/05. The thing is, I don't use this card. As a matter of fact, I'm glad I don't use it because these charges just jumped out at me!

I called my credit card company. They told me I have to talk to the company that initiated the charge, so I told them that I was unwilling to call a number in a strange area code. The number listed on the bill is (206) 202-0445. I don't know where area code 206 is located, and I don't want to find out with some outrageous charge on my phone bill on top of this one. Citi called the number to put me on the line with them...it's just a recording saying you have to go on the website and submit a request for information or dispute resolution. I called Citi back, and told them that I need to dispute the charges. I cancelled the card, and found out that they have charged it AGAIN, after the closing date of my last CC statement!

I've done some looking around, and found some information. Seems the first people that got hit were customers of some site called nobszone.com (I have no clue what the website is all about). They thought it was the administrator of that site behind it. It seems that now they are on to others. The majority say that tracing the charges leads to charges for a 3-day trial to a pornographic website - www.adultmegaplex.net - and then another charge for a month's membership. I don't look at these websites, much less would I be willing to pay $40 for the honor of seeing one for a month (outrageous!).

Basically, these guys are pulling some shady dealings right now. I wonder if they have something to do with the recent breach of security at ChoicePoint. How they got my credit card numbers is beyond me. Check your CC bills carefully for a charge like this...it looks like they're just getting started on this scam. This guy Daniel Melorca pops up all over the place. It seems the web sites are registered to an IP that runs to St. Kitts, China, and Australia eventually to his name. An awfully long maze for a legit company, if you ask me.

No its St. Kitts, be sure to check the "local" access number you are using

AUTHOR: Jason - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 05, 2005

It's a local access code to call St.Kitts

Why call St Kitts from local access numbers in area code of 206
Local access number has less operation cost than toll free number, so usually calling from local access number has cheaper rate than from toll free number. We have local access numbers in 206 area code to call St Kitts. Use our local phone cards call St Kitts will save your money.

Cannot find local access numbers in 206 area code?
If you have cellular phone plan with unlimited free domestic long distance in weekend and night, then you can take advantage of it to call any local access numbers in other states to get more minutes. Otherwise, you can check the best rate to call St Kitts from toll free numbers.

To avoid running up unwanted toll or long distance charges when calling local access numbers, be sure to check the "local" access number you are using. It is always up to the consumer to verify that the number they are dialing is a local call. Consumers who do not check the number before calling run the risk of incurring unexpected phone charges. Customers are responsible for charges associated with the dial-in number they select.
