my mortagage was assumed by AHSMI from Option one which never really caused any problems since I always made my payments on time and paid online thought thier online payment system. I filled a BK chapter 13 and after 2 years decided to refinance my home to payout my chapter 13. I knew I was going to have to pay a large percetage rate 10.5 % but was prepared for that and new going in that I was going to wait a couple years and refinance again to a lower rate after my credit score went up. Finally after 5 years of paying my payments on time and having an auto loan and motorcycle loan as well which were always paid on time, I was ready to refinance at 4.8 % with an FHA loan through Bank of America. The closing was a little slow because of the BK and it took about 30 days, I closed on Sept. 17,2010. The funds from closing were paid out on sept 24. and according to AHMSI they had not received the funds. After calling the closing agent and found out that AHSMI deposited the funds in thier bank(Mellon Bank) on the 27th I called AHSMI again and still they stated that they had not recieved the funds. I called again on a three way call with my closing agent and asked to be tranfered to an american rep. (if you want any thing done you have to ask to speak to an american rep. and then ask to speak to a supervisor.) It took at least five calls to AHSMI speaking to two diferent supervisors in the U.S. and over a week to finally get them to find the funds Oct. 4 which had been in thier bank all along. In short if you are dealing with these people every time you call ask to speak to someone in the U.S. get the reps name and employee number and document everything that you do and if you have to fax improtant documents to them ask to speak with a supervisor (try to get the same one) and get thier direct fax number. Always call back to make sure they received the fax (they have a bad habit of losing faxes) and stay on them until the issue is resolved. I can only hope that I dont have to call these people again to get my escrow check from them but I have the supervisors name and employee number and will call her back if I don't receive it within 30 days. I feel for all of you dealing with this company and hope you can get away from them as soon as possible. Just remember to always ask for a US rep. and always get the persons name and Employee number. AHSMI will not discuss your loan with third parties over the phone unless you do a three way call as I did. If your in a loan Modification or BK and dealing with them its important to call often and follow up on every transaction.

Hope this helps some of you and I will be glad when this company is sued and better regulated or done away with all together.
