Traditionally, in Japan, if something does not function properly, the vendor or manufacturer replaces it with something better that works. Making it"Right" is called "Giri".
American dealers have been allowed to disregard quality of product and Mr. Toyoda has isolated himself from consumers tot he poin that he cannot be contacted. He has effectively removed the most important thing in Toyotas, giri.
I special ordered optional airbags that were installed in Japan, I was in an accident,, the airbags did not deploy, I suffered a concussion and spine injury. The local Toyota dealer's sol;ution wass m, there was nothing to claimsince the other driver hit me..
Mr Toyoda can not be contacted ao there is no product fault correction....No giri.

I totally agree: Toyota is the most arrogant car company I ever dealt with and I will never ever buy a Toyota again.
I bought a 2014 Toyota Corolla S in December 2013 and special ordered one with a navigation system which I need for my real estate business. After a few days I had the first problem: On Interstate 10 between Palm Springs and Phoenix I tried to find out if I would still make it to the next gas station. According to the manual, the system should show "Points of Interest" (POI's) within 200 miles. When I punches in "show all gas stations" the system told me "No results found".
The map is always off between 200 and 500 ft so that the command to make a turn usually comes after the intersection, when I stand at the intersection where I am supposed to make a turn, it shows "make a turn in 200 ft"
Some addresses which are showing up correctly on my 4 year old Garmin are as far off as 3 miles, I had to call to get directions. Now I am using my $ 80,- Garmin which I have to stick onto the windshield because the $ 1,500 Toyota GPS is totally unreliable.
Toyotas answer: " The GPS is within our specifications."
