I have been being harrassed by Allied Interstate for over 1 year. I HAVE HAD IT WITH THEM! They are now calling 2-3 times aday, 7 days a week! All they leave is that stupid 800-701-2363 number and when I call it's for a guy who has the same last name as me.

I tell them to quit calling me, and they give me an attitude saying that the guy has 7 collection cases open. NOT MY GOD d**n PROBLEM!

I've gotten stupid machine voice message from Mark Lawrence, Tim Young and so many others!

I'm beginning my research and it looks like they have many locations in the US with the same number!

I'm getting and lawyer and contacting the phone company. This is f---ing bull! They have no right after I tell them to stop calling me to continue!

Please email me if you have the same problem and tell me what you did or are doing.
thanks

Cindy I have the same problem with Allied Interstate.

AUTHOR: Cindy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, May 29, 2006

I have the same problem with Allied Interstate. They have been calling me every day for the last yr. What I do now is unplug my phone (only use a cell phone). Now since January, I call them back everyday and leave their same stupid message on their 1-800 number. On my days off, sun and mon, I leave the same message on their phone 10-12 times a day. Now if everyone did this, maybe we can run out their tape and they might get sick of all our calls and stop harrassing people. Funny thing though, I happened to plug in my phone one day and sure enough their call came in, but interesting enough, a girl left the message with another phone number. maybe my trick is working. hopefully everyone does this!!!!

Kathy,

I am having the same problem with "Allied Interstate Collection Agency. They are calling my neigbors, my mother and anyone they can try to try to pay my debts. They call 3 to 4 times a day. But when they called my neighbor I got fed up (but the calls did stop, a little. I never answer them anyway). Pamela you are messing with the wrong person. Kathy, are you involved in a lawwuit with them, if I join, I do have substantial grievances against how they do their collecting. THis is on my Student loans!

You Will Win This Fight If You ALWAYS remember: The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword

AUTHOR: Michelle - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, November 21, 2004

Kathy:

Before I begin to offer ANY form of advice, let me state for the record, that I am not affiliated with this company nor am I an attorney, so my opinion is COMPLETELY unbiased.

Let me offer you a few words of advice BEFORE you consult an attorney or media outlet.....ALWAYS remember that "The proof is in the pudding". If you were to step into court or even a lawyer's office, complaing of this companies' on-going "harrasment" TOMORROW, WHAT would you have on your side to make your argument? HOW would you prove that you've been "harrassed", other than by TELLING the judge you were? You have NO "tangible" or "substantial" proof to support your case, outside of "hearsay" and your newly "frayed nerves" right now.

Well, if you are filing a grevience against a company, ESPECIALLY for "wrong-doing" of ANY sort, you need to gather as MUCH proof as you can, so that an attorney/judge/jury can accurately "measure" your damages. The MORE proof, evidence, and history that can be provided a lawyer, the better your case has of standing up under SEVERE scrutiny.

I had a situation similar to yours happen to me two months, where I received repeated daily/nightly harrassing phone calls from a company that I had NEVER even heard of. And like YOUR situation, my calls were for someone with whom I had NEVER been acquainted with, let alone shared an account with to justify their continuous calls to me. After REPEATED conversations with numerous "representatives" whose names I had saved from non-stop messages, I took matters into my OWN hands.

Before the next call came in, my plan sprung into action. Since I use the voice mail offered through my local phone company, I bought a separate device to "externally" record ANY complete conversations that came through my line. The very next day, I received another call, however, due to the fact that Florida laws regarding "eavesdropping" and "conversation taping" are SO strict, I had to begin the conversation with a "disclaimer". (Before doing this, be sure to check your state's surveillance, taping, and eavesdropping laws are....it's available online for FREE, and the time spent towards this research will DEFINITELY save you blind-siding legal issues that can be "countered" against you later on.)

I simply recited MY state's law regarding taping our conversation, and after obtaining their consent to continue taping the conversation, I then asked for the name of the individual that I was speaking with, and the address of where they were located (IF they are INDEED legitimate, they will NOT hold this information from you.) It was THEN, that I reinformed them, once again, that the individual that they were inquiring about was of NO relation to me, has NEVER resided at this residence, and that they should regard this conversation as a "formal" demand for them to "Cease And Desist" their harrassment.

My follow-up plan-of-action consisted of TYPING (but NOT signing) a letter demanding that they "CEASE AND DESIST" their harrassment immediately (call me "paranoid", but I NEVER like for my personal handwriting to get into the hands of ANYONE who has the power to manipulate it for their own agenda), and send it "Certified/Registered Receipt". Included in the letter, I repeated that I had no knowledge of the "debtor" they were investigating, did not "personally" owe the debt, therefore, any additional calls/letters/credit inquires/etc. would be deemed "harrassment", and would result in civil litigation proceedings brought against them.

IMMEDIATELY their calls stopped.

This may NOT stop the calls that YOU are receiving, however, it WILL give you a paper-trail and phone-recorded account of your request for them to stop the harrassment. Therefore, IF and WHEN you decide to address this issue legally, you can THEN be in a better position to prove that you have attempted to disuade them from their continued collection efforts, however erroneous it is, but to no prevail.

Once again, I state that I am NOT a legal representative, but I DO believe in the military's PRIMARY rule....C.Y.A.......

Cover.... Your.... a*s.... because I GUARANTEE you that if you DO seriously try this in litigation, THEY will cover THEIR'S if you try to approach this "half-cocked".

But hey......what do I know?
