Recently, I rented a property with the Allstar Lodging in Luray, VA but ended up canceling the reservation and paying steep penalty for canceling. The rental cost of all Allstar Lodging properties is based on 2 adults even if youre renting a huge house with 5 bedrooms. Each additional guest will be charged $25/day per guest. If you happen to miss this detail and try to cancel your reservation, you will be changed very high penalty (20% of the rental cost) even if you called half an hour later after making the reservation. I have traveled to many different countries, but I have never seen this kind of deceptive and unfair business practice.

We're so sorry you had to cancel your reservation.
Some homes do rent for maximum occupancy only. We also offer vacation rentals at a fair price for 2 guests. Some larger homes are priced that way so that if only 2 people are coming, it can still be made cost effective for just 2 of them. This is prominently displayed on each of our listing of our web site. Naturally if you will have more guests, using the property, additional rooms, water, electricity...there is a nominal fee for each guest. (if you reserve a hotel room and bring 2 additional guests that want their own room, guarantee you the hotel will charge full rate for another room).
For example, the home is listed for $150 per night (for 2 guests), if 2 more guests are added, rate is $200 ($50 more). Rate can be split and now each pair of guests is only $100 per night. The more adults you have to split the cost, the more cost effective it becomes making vacation rentals the most cost effective way to have lodging for groups and families.
We have a 30 day cancellation policy and offer Travel Insurance to protect rental payments in cases of family illness and other covered perils.
Rental agreements must be reviewed and agreed to online before a reservation can be made. We are here to answer any questions you may have before confirming your reservation. We have had thousands of families stay with us every year, and have been in business for over 10 years. We hope you will give us a chance at a future date to be a satisfied guest also.
