American Boat listings, ablboats.com has been steeling for almost 27 years. They call people trying to sell their used boats and suggest they have buyers for them. They claim they attend 40 boat shows and do the for sale by owner printed catalogues. This is a lie. They might go to 1 or 2 shows and their booth is one guy with a bunch of sheets printed out. They are a scam and they dont sell boats. Its a nice web-site if you want to put your boat on it but it sure as heck doesnt sell any boats. This  company's sales people and its owner want one thing! Your credit card and thats it. if you do business with them you are going to waste your money.

My experience with ABL Boats

AUTHOR: SloopDogg - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Hi

I got the emails and the phone calls from ABL boats claiming they had buyers for my boat.  Alan Dale told me in a phone conversation that my boat would be listed on Yachtworld.com.  This statement alone was what convinced me to pay the $150.00.  Well, I checked all the websites but nothing on yachtworld.com.  I wrote to inquire and was told, "I'm sorry you misunderstood, but yachtworld is for brokers."

1st, ABL leads you to believe they are brokers.

2nd, I did not misunderstand anything, I was told they would put it on yachtworld!

I wrote back and and told them I wanted a refund and never heard from them again.

I was told they would "...do a good job."  All they did was copy and past my email when listing the boat.  I asked if I could make changes to the ad or ad more pictures.  No response.

I guess in the end, my boat got listed and it cost me $150.00 for what I could have done for free.  I would have done a much better job with the ad too!

They had no buyers for my boat.  They don't even know who I am as they keep sending me emails asking me to list my boat with them.  I would not recommend them and given the opportunity to do it over, I would not.  Mainly because of the lie about Yachtworld and secondly because of the lack of responses to my inquiries and never addressing my request for a refund.

All my info is here on the site and I'm leaving my name.  Lets see if they respond to me now.  They have all my contact info, or, at least had it when they were calling me 3-4 times a weeks making it sound like my boat would be sold right away because they had all these buyers they were going to take somewhere else.  It has been about 2 months now and not a single nibble.  Lets see them put my testimonial on their site!

I find it interesting that this person doesn't bother to put his name to his words. His claims are completely false. All testimonials on the site include person's first and last name, the type of boat sold and the location. They can be easily verified unlike the author of this article who chooses to remain anonymous.

Also the statement " It's a nice site if you want to put your boat on it but it sure as hell doesn't sell any boats" speaks volumes as to this persons lack of intelligence and command of the english language.
