AFC took over $4,000 of our money and we received nothing in return. After 8 months of inactivity and no communication, I stopped payments and that is when they started to contact me.

These idiots tell you anything you want to hear. They lead you to believe that they will actually work hard to settle your debt when in actuality I think they just sit and wait for collection letters to come in with settlement offers and then present them to you like they have done something. 

Stay far away from this company!!! If you don't, make sure you read their fine print very closely. I consulted with an attorney after going in circles with Joel Knapp, Bill Freda, Sandra Wright & Nico Jones about getting a refund of my money and was told there is not much I could do because of the "clauses" written in the contract. They are virtually "sue free". Thank goodness I stopped payment before they got more money from us.

Debt is a serious problem and in our case this company caused our financial situation to worsen. Had we of worked with a non-profit organization or contacted our creditors ourselves to work out better interest rates or settlements we probably would not have ended up in bankruptcy. Also, in the fine print, if you file bankruptcy you give up all right to any refund. Go figure.

DO NOT TRUST THESE SCAM ARTISTS!!! Now that my time is freed up from BK, I'm going to continue to pursue this matter and file a complaint with the State Attorney General. My monies are not recoverable at this point but at least I can try to warn other consumers about this company's bad practices.
