ancestry.com offers a free trial. If you do not cancel before the free trial you are automatically renewed. I foolishly responded, was billed for the whole month even though the start date was on the 14th and then billed for the next month at the beginning of the month. So now I have paid $50 for one month.

If I wish to cancel NOW I must pay $50.00! to cancel account. Nowhere on the website is this information spelled out. The date of your agreement is a secret. One cannot communicate with them except via phone.

I have used their products in the past, and they offer valuable information. Never again.

Their billing practice is a total ripoff, and the whole procedure is deplorable.
