Andersen Van And Storage negligence in handling furniture, sham appraiser, refusal to repair damage despite insurance ripoff Nipomo California

The company initially sent new employees to pack my furniture into the van. One man did the work of hauling these antiques and boxes while the other one just checked off lists.

As a result, a chiffarobe mirror was not placed in a mirror pack but wrapped in a blanket and jammed between boxes. The stand of the tripod then snapped. An antique desk was lifted by its delicate wood handle and then broke.

It was found later in the van and sent to me in an envelope with an apology. The mohogany piece of the mirror tripod was not found. The legs of the desk were scraped as the desk was dragged down concrete steps by this one man. An armoire was scraped when one man dragged the heavy plasma TV off of it. A laquered box was chipped and a leg broken when it was stuffed between heavy boxes instead of packed.

In my pre-move itemized sheet, the damge to the laquer box was not noted though the appraiser they sent said it was old. I had a few other items, minor, chipped plate, snapped legs of a porcelain clown in boxes which could occur during the regular wear and tear of a move. Andersen sent an appraiser, then wrote me a letter stating that my insurance had a deductible of $250 and miraculously, the damages totaled $250 so it was not their responsibility and I should contact the appraiser to fix the furniture. He of course is suddenly no where to be found and would not return my phone calls.

Most of this furniture damage was not regular wear and tear of moving but as a result of mishandled and abused furniture that was not packed or protected properly.
