These people operate just like the typical crooked used car dealer. They will tell you anything to make a sell but try to get them to honor what they say after the sale.

The owner Ray Anderson is so busy trying to be a big time boat racer he has no time to deliver customer service.

After I bought my boat from him and was put through hell, I talked to everyone that I saw with a boat like mine that I thought might have come from him, and without exception no one had anything good to say.

Later I found out that his nickname is Rape'n Ray. Since then I have learned that Ebbtide pulled there line from him because of customer complaints.

Very Satisified Customer

AUTHOR: dswest - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, April 01, 2016

We bought a boat from Anderson Marine two years ago. It is a Qwest Pontoon and we have not had any major issues with the boat, service dept., sales staff. We were treated with good customer service. We had a few minor issues with the boat when first purchased and they fixed them quickly and with no charge to us. Appartently the complainer either bought a boat  from a manaufacturer that had issues with their product or he was such a jerk that he was treated like he treated others. I recommend this company to any one looking to buy. They are good people to deal with.

Ray Anderson

AUTHOR: Leon - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, March 22, 2015

I live in the Madison community and have known Ray Anderson for over 25 years. When he first started out in business he repaired and rebuilt Mercury engines in his garage and did a fantastic job at a reasonable price. Later he opened up a marine repair shop on Old Hickory Blvd and stayed there until he opened his dealership.

He sold me the first 150 Mercury that I ever owned and could not have been more honest and forthwright in our dealings. Over the years, I have probably referred at least 20 people to him for their boating needs and have yet to hear anything but compliments on their dealings with Ray. He serviced my carburetors on my bass boat last year, added a water seperator and I could not have been more pleased with the job or the price.

He made the comment to his service manager that I was one of his first customers and I would highly recommend him to anyone that need marine service or to purchase a boat.

Was This Complaint from a Competitor?

AUTHOR: Bill in Gallatin - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 27, 2013

As new boat owners, we have been treated with nothing but kindness, consideration, and professionalism from Joy and Ray Anderson. They have been patient, responsive, and accommodating. And I am willing to personally back up what I say, not make an anonymous accusation.

Anderson Marine is a family owned business that prides itself in customer satisfaction.

This email is a rebuttal to RipOff #4600.
It was sent by Ray Anderson at andersonmarine@worldnet.att.net.

ANDERSON MARINE, Madison,Tn, DON'T BUY A BOAT HERE! (#4600)

They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report:

Their email: andersonmarine@worldnet.att.net
Their name: Ray Anderson
Their phone number: 615-868-6313
Their relationship to the company: Owner

Rebuttal:
Anderson Marine is a family owned business that prides itself in customer satisfaction. Anderson Marine sells new and used boats and does not operate the business like the typical crooked used car dealer.

Ray Anderson has a 20 year history of racing boats and has built his sales and service business on the knowledge and experience he has acquired through the years.

Ray Anderson participated in 1 race for the 2001 season. It
is very disturbing that this customer is so upset that he filed this report. We are not able to determine who this unhappy customer is without knowing his name.

Anderson Marine sold DynaTrak bass boats that were manufactured by Ebbtide Marine until the manufacturer stopped building the boats in 1999. A

nderson Marine has NEVER had any boat or motor line pulled from them in the past 20 years of doing business. The worst kind of customer problem is one that we do not know about.

Ray Anderson has been in the marine business for 20 years now and has seen many marine dealers go out of business. Anderson Marine is dedicated to promoting the enjoyment of boating, fishing, and watersports by selling quality products and providing experienced service at affordable prices. We want to know when a customer is unhappy -- nothing in this world is perfect - however, Ray Anderson makes it his goal and the goal of Anderson Marine to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction possible. I urge this unhappy customer to give Anderson Marine another chance at resolving his issues.
