AOL advertises that they offer "free" email. I signed up and should have known better when the registration required my credit card account number. The next month, I had a $29.90 on my card!

I immediately called them. No answer, wait time forever, so I emailed them and requested they cancel my account. They did not.

I was charged another $29.90 and telephoned, to no avail. So, I went on the online customer service and had a long conversation with someone from another country. You could tell because the English was so poor.

I asked to have the charges reversed. The response was, "we cannot do that." So, I called the credit card company and told them the charges were fraudulent. They reversed the charges and now AOL is sending me threatening letters that they are going to send me to a collection agency.

I smell a class action suit! When I called my credit card company, the customer service representative told me he has people calling "all the time" with fraudulent charges from AOL.
