I just don't feel that the quality or dedication to this job was there.I have hired numerous contractors to work on my homes & this was not a good experience.

Accepted a TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR down payment 01/04/17 with a contractual start date of 01/2017 ( this was more than 30% of what the total bill was going to be, which was 28k including countertops ) . FYI the cost of supplies on the invoice they issued totaled 7057.62 ...Gave excuse after excuse for delays and finally began work 03/2017... TWO MONTHS late ...when it was clear I was about to cancel. Wish I had seen the following before signing " Asking you to pay up front : According to the Better Business Bureau, a contractor asking for money up front is the most commonly reported scam.

In this ruse, the contractor claims that they need a certain percentage of the payment up front in order to rent equipment or buy supplies. [continued below]....

..... However, after getting the money, they end up taking their sweet time , disappearing or do substandard work knowing most likely they won’t be fired because of the substantial payment you’ve already made" From the start things went badly . First day employee I had never seen rang my bell and when I answered the door they just started walking into my home. No introduction.

I stopped them & asked "who are you ?" ( I had met 2 completely different employees doing work on someone else's home. ) Work began each day anywhere between 9:30 and 11:00 , they would not commit to a definite start time. The new (in my opinion inexperienced & untrained) employee kept dropping things on my hardwood floor ( there are some minor chips), they spattered glue on it that was used to attach refacing veneer ( no drop cloths until after all that happened, which was unfortunately a little late) . These are *AFTER* photos : They sawed wood moulding while it was still attached to the wall and into my hardwood floor.

Chipped the moulding in the process as well. Cracked and split veneer was attached to my cabinets & when it was called to their attention the owner & employee argued with me. They didn't take screws out of a cabinet prior to carrying it into the garage and put gouges & scratches into a wood interior door. Didn't tell me they did it , I found that unhappy surprise after they left .

Professional ? Ethical ?

You be the judge.I regret ever hiring Artistic Kitchen Concepts.

Doesn't Explain the Bad Work

AUTHOR: MarkieMark - (USA)

This contractor probably ought to work on perfecting his craft.

Says alot that he responds with "the customer is crazy "  diversion tactic instead of addressing the bad work done.

Is this joker a Dr. too ? lol

Cyber Stalker Spreading Falsehoods

AUTHOR: Artistic Kitchen Concepts - (USA)

This review is completely without merit and is rife with absolute falsehoods. Fortunately, we have many clients who can vouch for our work and professionalism.

Unfortunately, due to this client's personal "issues," this was an uphill battle from the start and we were not permitted to complete this job.

Her initial accusation about an “employee” barging past her on the first day without an introduction is a total fabrication. My wife, who has many years of handyperson experience and has worked on remodeling projects with me for over 8 years is the “employee” she is referring to.

Both my wife and I showed up together to drop off materials the Friday before we started the project, and they were properly introduced. The following Monday, my wife arrived at her home and was greeted warmly and invited in by the homeowner. In fact, up until the last day, she and my wife seemed to get along very well.

My wife is meticulous about making sure that the floors, countertops and large appliances are covered/protected while she is working, another false accusation on the part of this homeowner.

The hours we keep depend on the projects that we are working on that day. Some take more time. Some less. This is not an office job, and we are in and out for materials, etc. Plus, she never complained about our work hours while we were on the job.

On the first day of construction, the client informed us that she had an "Obsessive Compulsive" personality disorder and asked us to be patient with her. We tried. We denied her NOTHING, agreeing to every request for addition or change - even as her demands for changes from her contract increased and became more outlandish.

We were not even a week into the project when the client began having "episodes." On Friday afternoon of that first week, she became aggressive and verbally abusive to my wife and myself, and she continued to exhibit bizarre behavior. We completed the work day, and later that evening we received a surprise email terminating our contract.

We provided an accounting of the job (she owes us money), and she held our tools hostage until she received it.

Since then, we have been cyber stalked by this person using multiple fake names/email addresses. Her "reviews" have been full of so many fabrications that they have been pulled by 2 online services and are under review by the Illinois Attorney General's office.

She has breached her contract, has fraudulently used our identities to contact at least one of our suppliers and other businesses, and she has continued to make false and unwarranted statements about us and the work she did not even give us a chance to complete. We are considering legal action, especially if this harassment does not stop.

We have since learned that her behavior is consistent with certain Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorders, and those characteristics make it virtually impossible for such a person to handle the type of disruption that comes with a normal kitchen remodel.

PHOTOS: The reviewer claims these are "AFTER" photos, which is impossible since we were only halfway through the job when she defaulted on her contract. These are pictures of approved work (in process and correctly done); a beaten up door we did not damage; and a picture of a cabinet we were in process of modifying, and, if you look carefully, will see that the nails do not even line up with the damage she’s claiming on that door.
