In May of this year I was guaranteed a certain amount of minutes if I would agree to a two year extension of my contract.
In July AT&T decided this wasn't a valid promotion and dropped my plan by 700 minutes without notifying me, resulting in $212 in overage charges. Their customer service department informed me that if I insisted on being released from the contract they violated, not only would they not issue credit for July but they would "back bill" me for June. This is a very short version of 3 days of phone calls where I was lied to and threatened with additional charges if I did not accept what they offered. I have now switched carriers and am battling AT&T because I refuse to pay $175 for early termination of a contract they violated, not to mention trying to get credit on taxes, surcharges, and regulatory fees on the $212 they over charged me.
According to AT&T they aren't capable of calculating these charges, I have to wait two billing cycles for them to "fall out".
