 After 9 years in business and paying for 5 land line local and 800 nine phone lines I decided to ditch the land lines and port one of the phone numbers to a cell phone so I wouldn't be tied to an office or have to pay for a land line only to have it forward to a cell phone. The cell carrier, which wasn't at&t, ported the phone number to the new cell phone for me. Shortly afterwards, I get a bill from AT&T saying I owed for the portion of the month the phone was active. And, an EARLY TERMINATION FEE for a phone I'd had NIINE YEARS! I've tried to get an answer for why I'm being charged an early termination fee for a phone I'd had almost a decade. But, all I've gotten is harassed by bill collectors wanting to extort $300 from me.
