ATV Specialties Kenneth Allred Took money and did not complete work. Then purchased ATV and failed to pay agreed price. STAY AWAY Benson North Carolina

I took my Raptor 660 ATV to Ken at ATV Specialties in Benson in early 2013. He told me it needed transmission work and it would take two weeks to get the parts and get it done. He took $350 parts deposit, took my ATV apart and then strung me along for 6 months along with requesting I send him a further $100 in parts(which I did)

 

Since it was in pieces I could not come take it from him as no other shop would work on it after he had done who knows what to it. At the 6th month point he told me "I know what the problem is and it will be $400 more or you will pay me $200 for my time and take it as is". Of course the raptor 660 still NOT in complete condition and $200 for him wasting 6 months of my time, did not sound like a good idea. Neither did giving this guy a further $400 when he already told me what the issue was and exactly what the cost would be.

 

I asked Ken if he wished to buy the raptor as I was tired of the situation and he had shown interest in purchasing it before. Ken offered to buy the raptor for $1100, but only had $800 that day. We wrote out a bill of sale with a section stating he owed me the further $300 within 90 days.

 

He later told me he would not be paying me the $300 for a reason that I did not give him my ATV ramps and other ACCESSORIES that were never apart of the deal(nor on bill of sale). Now I ask you reading this.. Are ATV ramps for a truck apart of an ATV?

 

I ended up taking him to Small Claims court in Johnston county NC AND WON. Stay away from this guy! He acts like hes this great christian, but he swore on the bible in court and then lied right in front of the magistrate and myself on a couple different things.. BE WARNED. I wasted 7 months of my life, $100s in gasoline and $2000+ on an ATV I got to ride less than one hour thanks to Ken. What hurts me.. Is that I was constantly nice to this guy, constantly made excuses for him and said "hes the best" to other ATV shops and my own family when they said "2 weeks and its taken 4? 5? now 6 months? thats crazy!".

 

What he did was borderline blackmail/theft.. He took my money, he strung me along, then hinted along the way he wanted to buy my four wheler once he had me in a situation he knew would be hard to be a success. I have never done a ripoff report and have never been treated this poorly by someone. Please avoid ATV Specialities in Benson NC, its not worth it.
