getting to the point, this bank sucks. A week ago they garnished my acount without notifying me that in doing so, we were completely drained of our checking acount. after a few overdraft charges, and a nice $75 dollar processesing fee ,(?????) we realized we were in trouble.

we called the customer service hotline and they were just as hopelessly confused as we were . they had no idea what they were doing, or who we should talk to fix the problem. the only thing they could tell us was that the garnishment could still be effective and we should wait on putting any more money in the account.

for some reason, we listened. I guess we should have known better, what kind of bank actually tells you the truth?

Living paycheck to paycheck, the overdraft fees kept piling up, we were getting nowhere quick.

We got ahold of the party responsible for the garnishment order, and arranged for it's release. taking the release papers to our bank in Mission Kansas, we were ready to get this crap behind us and catch up to our meager, just getting by style of banking when we were slammed again!

this bank has no managers, and the only person that could help us was an underqualified unexperienced heartless b***h. Instead of releasing the money back into our account the day i brought her the papers, she sat on the form and let three more transactions bounce before deciding to do anything. the next day,,, wasting more of our time we went back to see why the hell this @#$% was still happening.

Because B of A doesn't care about it's customers, this whole bank location was being run by a couple of punks just of school who have no idea what it's like to broke, and don't even have the authorization, or the knowhow to take care of these types of problems.

after missing work, and sleep over this whole ordeal, we finally got a few of the many overage charges forgiven, but i still feel that i was screwed. this bank has a policy of kicking you when you're down, and sucking you dry. these heartless sob's need to be brought to their knees and fined and sued and bankrupted. I'll join a civil action any day.

AUTHOR: Delta - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 27, 2004

I would rather spend spend my money on cashing my checks at a conveinent store than to, put my money in any bank.I dont car what it says in any brochure i been threw lots of banks and they always find away to screw you.PERIOD. So all these people with these defense comments bout banks are good its "our" fault, probably have lots ans lots of money in bank and dont even notice that the bank is stealing from them.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Read you disclosures, Any bank, not just B of A must abide by any garnishments which are legal processes.

AUTHOR: Sabrina - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, October 21, 2004

If everybody in this world would just read their disclosures and policy brochure given at the time they opened a checking account, there wouldn't be any problems. Any bank, not just B of A must abide by any garnishments (which are legal processes). When a bank gets a call (usually by a lawyer or the government) regarding a garnishment, they have to turn over funds. It's clearly stated in the disclosures. As for the fee of $75, that is the fee B of A charges as stated in the Schedule of Fees booklet. Other banks charge similar. If, after reading the disclosures, you don't agree to the the policy and procedures, then you may close your account with the bank. Period. If you continue to leave your account open, that is an indication that you agree to the disclosures. And it is a CONTRACTUAL agreement. Other banks are pretty much the same. So if you dont agree to any bank's policies, you can always cash your checks at pay day loan centers and take out money orders to pay your rent and bills. But that can get expensive, more expensive than responsibly keeping a checking account open.
