BBC Foundations & Flatwork, LLC / All Phaze Construction Additional Work - Additional Charges Carleton Michigan

BBC Foundations charged an additional $4,592.00 for work that was not quoted on the original proposal.  They also did not inform me that there would be any additional charges. I did not become aware of the extra $4,592.00 charge until they gave me an invoice.

The quality of their work was poor and/or not done properly and I ended up having to have some of the work they completed re-done by others at an additional cost.

I've tried to settle the matter, but they would previously not respond to my letters.  I finally received a call from the company, after they were contacted by the Better Business Bureau and was able to meet with one of their representatives, Eric.  During the meeting that I had with Eric, I found out that BBC didn't have time to do all the work that they had given me a proposal for and subcontracted the work out to another company!

I believe that the additional charges are part of and inclusive in the original proposed work.  I feel that BBC Foundations added the additional charges to re-coop money that they may have paid out to the other company, since they did not perform the work themselves, especially, in light of the fact that they did not inform me of additional charges while the work was ongoing.

Even though I feel that BBC Foundations' business practices are dishonest in this regard, I offered to settle and pay 50% of the additional charges.  Eric refused and told me that he had made $100,000.00 on a job that he was working on that day and would spend it on an attorney and see me in court.

They've placed a lien on my house for an amount that far exceeds the outstanding amount due (even including the extra charges), of approximately $10,000.00 excess.
