Subscription based marketing

AUTHOR: FloridaNative - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, September 30, 2016

Whenever you see those offers of 'free trial for x days' pay only shipping and handling' (paraphrased)  - you are entering into a contract with the seller that you are signing up for a monthly or quarterly subscription.  One of the reasons the seller of the product or service wants your credit or debit card entered into the form is to not only charge the S&H, but to charge the monthly fee. These subscription services are everywhere. I agree with you that these terms are deceptive because, unless you take the time to read the small print in your order, you never realize you are signing up for a monthly subscription until you have been charged full price at least one time and some people take several months to notice the charge on their billing statements.

Make sure to cancel according to the terms and conditions to cancel and do it exactly as they require or you will continue to receive the charges. The lesson here:  don't ever sign up for those "free trial" type services. Good luck.
