I'll occasionally take a survey to help future customers and known retailers. In this specific incident, i took a survey from Amazon. I trust Amazon and shop frequently through them, so i wrongly assummed the survey was legitimate. after the survey (about 12 questions all amazon related that took maybe one minute) i was directed to BeautyFashions.co and given the option for some free products, though i had to pay 7.95 in shipping and handling.

i'd typically close the survey out at this point, but one of the products was a watch. although i dont wear watches (i'm far to "hands on" and typically break or damage them), my wife likes to accessorize and i figured that whereas it's a cheap watch i'm sure she'll find an outfit to wear it with. so i purchased it. i read the disclaimer that said if i didnt cancel in 14 days they'll charge me 98.00. i purchased on the 3rd, and cancelled on the 17th.

now some may ask, why'd you wait so long...we'll i'm a busy fella and as soon as i placed the order i also set a reminder in my phone for 14 days out to cancel. the reason i waited was to ensure i recieved the product. Now in my book, 17-3 (I ordered on the 3rd, and cancelled on the 17th) is 14. well, i called and cancelled today (the 17th) and low and behold i check my bank account and there is a charge for 98.00$. so i call back and they rather rudely explalin to me that i need to learn how to count as this is technically day 15. and they're right, it is, but come on!!

you expect to capture and maintain a customer base but use "shady" (for a lack of a better word) gimmicks to defraud customers? and some may ask, "how were you defrauded?" as the disclaimer said they'd charge you 98.00$ if you didnt cancel in 14 days. well, i believe in two ways. 1st, 14 days consists of 336 hours. i ordered this product on the 3rd at 20:31 and cancelled on the 17th at 17:30. That comes out to 332 hours and 59 minutes (3 hours shy of 14 days). secondly, the watch isnt worth 9.80$, let alone 98.00.

now i've called 3x's, and have recieved a refund of 35% (34.30), which i'm somewhat ok with, other than the watch still isnt worth 63.70$ and i was still within (in my mind and anyone else who knows how to do math) my 14 day period. a point of note is that the terms and conditions simply state 14 days. there isnt any specification that if you order at 11:59 on the 3rd you'll be charged 98$ at 00:01 on the 17th.

Just beware of this scam, as it is a scam. i'll update if i recieve any additional funds as a result of my persistance.
