Bernard Haldane ripoff deceptive company Bellevue Washington

This is another report on Bernard Haldane. I was solicited by a phone call from them telling me they were aware I was looking for a manager's position for a woman's apparel store or apparel department. They indicated in the same conversation that they would be able to help me acquire this. Would I like to come in and talk to Lew Carlson? So an appointment was set up with Mr. Carlson and I was presented with all the hardships of acquiring a position and how they had the knowledge to help me get a job that probably wasn't even in existence, and that jobs thru the internet were a waste of time due to the vast amount of applicants. I feel very confidant that it was on the Monster.com site is where they found me. With proper presentation and good referrals from friends and personal contacts that I knew from the business I had been in, I could acquire this. Nothing was ever mentioned about referrals and contacts from the Haldane side, this should have been my first clue along with many others that I so over looked. Well this started an evaluation, with testing and a discussion with the Haldane staff to see if I fit the criteria they were looking for to help. Any one who would pay the fee would undoubtedly qualify. The committee looked over my qualifications and background and decided they could help me acquire a position with their methods. Then on the second meeting the pressure was applied by telling me on an appointment with Lew Carlson early in the week that I needed to decide if I was going to go with them and to let him know by the Friday of the same week or they would have to move on to the next applicant as they were cutting down on how many people they would take. Well this was no small decision on my part as the total cost of their quote unquote HELP was going to cost $4500.00. Well have been convinced that there was a possibility that a job would emerge, after all Lew Carlson said that I should not let my age become a factor in this, (62 golden years of knowledge). That they had helped many retired people find the job of their dreams. Well I did go in on Friday and sign the dotted line on the contract and handed over my credit card to save some money, 5% was deducted if paid in full, bringing the amount down to $4275.00. This started numerous appointments with Gary Penner (my director thru this maze). This was the beginning of lots of appointments and a lot of homework . Redo my existing resume, do a focus sheet, write up a well rehearsed speech for perspective interviewers called the HOOK, also get referrals from friends and business people I had done business with. These referrals would lead me to people who could either hire me or give me names of other persons who possibly could. No names or referrals were ever mentioned by any one from Bernard Haldane. I redid my resume numerous times and finally put that to rest and then came the achievement sheet that was redone numerous times, all of this requiring an appointment. Well after all these appointments and no referrals and no noticeable help from the Haldane group, I gave up and decided retirement was cheaper and did not require a job if I move to Mexico. So that's the next step on the agenda. All I can say about the Bernard Haldane concern is that they occupy a large office on a top floor of a large business building. They are all adept at selling a non-existent service, even used car salesmen at least will give you something for your money. What a way to make a living. I have gone in and let them know that I am moving to Mexico and I would like a refund of $3442.00, and was told to write a letter to the owner requesting such. Which I have done and it will prove interesting on the out come of it I will keep you posted on further results.
