On ______0ct 6__ 2011 I met Bill Farhood of BF Datacomm to discuss installing camera equipment in my building. My primary interest and focus of the scope of work was an HD streaming webcam on the roof of the building with sound. This camera was intended to be mounted on the roof of the building such that it could see the side of the structure where an artist will be painting a giant mural, and also the surrounding neighborhood. I also had marginal interest in upgrading some security cameras in the building.

Mr. Farhood was confident in his abilities to do the job and began right away. He did not provide me with a written estimate, he did not at any point indicate to me what he was spending and what the bill was. He started installing security cameras and after several weeks the "roof cam" still did not seem to be moving forward. I asked him to cease and desist all work on the security cameras as they were secondary, and to focus on the main roof camera. We had several disagreements through the course of getting the cameras installed as his focus seemed to be on security cameras and not the installation of the roof webcam.

Finally, the rooftop webcam was installed, and Mr. Farhood wanted payment. I had given him $4000 when he began, and he then gave me a bill for over $4500 more as a final total invoice of over $8000. It was then discovered that the camera he installed on the roof was not a streaming webcam, and would not do the job it was intended to do. This was the prime focus of my hiring Mr. Farhood. After several exchanges attempts were made to get the camera to work, but they failed. He also abandoned the project and did not give me any written training or instruction on how to use the security system. It is useless to me.

From my web girl

AUTHOR: tony vera echevarria - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, January 20, 2012

Alex sent me this from your emails today:Tony,I copied you on an email to Bill who is asking me to be a part of a lawsuit against you, while apparently blaming the situation on me. Ironic, but whatever. Anyway I told him I am not interested in being involved in this early today when he emailed me. During his install I was copied on his many emails to you about how much he knows about cameras, and how you shouldn't insult his intelligence, and how he knows more about streaming video and installing cameras than anyone. The "multi streaming" camera he chose with no sound has nothing to do with web streaming. Despite the hours of research he went on about, he skipped a huge detail and made assumptions about what the camera could do and was just wrong. He argued with me about it and I just didn't argue back because it wasn't my place and he didn't want to hear it from me anyway. When the camera wouldn't stream he didn't believe me. I called Samsung and they told me flat out it was not a streaming camera AT ALL and the only way to make it stream is to have custom software written which would be "a challenge". I told him that, and he still didn't believe me. Then he called Samsung and sent me an email saying to make it stream they could "maybe" write a patch and it would take 2 months. I have that email. He still couldn't admit he bought and installed a camera that didn't stream to the web. He scoffed at your attempts to make sure the choice in camera was right, disgusted that you would send him a Wikipedia article about streaming cams and the equipment you wanted. What a mess.I know, and you know that he solely made the recommendation for the cameras, ordered them, purchased them and installed them. Not me. Him. Wasn't my job. He really isn't one to listen to other peoples suggestions. His angry emails, personal insults to you and crazy rants are nothing I want to be a part of anymore the whole thing is ugly and mean. YOUR rants I am ok with (ha) but seriously people making me the scapegoat for everything they don't like is getting a bit tiring. I guess in a way it is amazing that I have that much control over everything, isn't it. Anyway good luck I hope the people of Venice support your efforts and help get the cam going. Good luck with the web site. I copied you on this email to Bill.Alex Bill,You are an individual, independent contractor. I told you that Tony was looking for someone to install cameras and suggested you talk to him. That is it. Your decision to take the job or not has nothing to do with me.My job was to take streaming video from a webcam, and embed it on Tony's website. That is it. I bear no responsibility that you chose a camera that does not stream to the internet to be the camera which had a sole purpose and intent of being his streaming web cam. In an effort to help, I offered to talk to people who could possibly try to write a patch to make it work. They could not get it to work without being paid for some pretty intensive software work. Again, that was not my job. I offered to try that in an effort to help resolve the situation for everyone. You, with your years of experience and knowledge chose the camera and installed it. Never, ever, was it my job to write software. Plenty of cameras stream video straight to the web. You chose one that didn't. Not my responsibility, or problem. Why you are trying to publicly blame this on me, and then want my testimony in court is baffling but that seems to be the trend. At this point Bill, the answer is no. As I asked you today, this has nothing to do with me as much as you wish it did. Leave me out of it.Alex

Bill Farhood of BF DataCom Inc EMAILS

AUTHOR: tony vera echevarria - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2012

From: "William N. Farhood, Jr."
Date: November 03, 2011 3:30:52 PM
I watched the "Burning Man festival" on ustream in September. They used a Speco Spectra IV camera. Believe it or not, you have a better camera. I was considering the Spectra IV but decided it wasn't good enough.

On Nov 02, 2011, at 07:13 PM, "William N. Farhood, Jr."
Tony - there will be little if any hardware additions beyond what you
>> see here. I will give you the bullet cam to look at the big cam and
>> when I get the bill for the DVR it will probably be less than $850 which
>> I listed here. I think I can even get the big cam on the DVR too -
>> we'll see. Also, you are getting the major components at exactly my
>> cost - Samsung cam, bracket, DVR, microphone. I have no desire to mark
>> up the hardware, and there's no money in it anyway when you have the
>> internet to compare pricing. I buy through ADI distribution so I get
>> great prices. Would it be possible to get another 4K progress payment
>> this week and the balance when the DVR and microphone are installed?
>> There will probably be a little more labor beyond this but not much.
>> The hardest stuff is over
On Nov 3, 2011, at 4:41 PM, "William N. Farhood, Jr."
It's all done.  When you are ready to stream for his web site i will set up the multicast.  I am still tweaking the system but for all practical purposes it is done.

my web girl

Awesome if you can email me the software and the login from outside and inside the network I will set up the streaming and the mirror thank you

Ok. What do you need to do with the router or what needs to happen that isn't happening

Alex - Tony is driving me crazy.  I need you to explain some technical things to him.  He doesn't understand that the router and port forwarding are critical to him seeing the camera.  If I hear one more time about his money I will scream.

AUTHOR: Jenny Mack - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 17, 2012

I have had very similar trouble with this Tony person also.
I work part time in a local dentist office that Tony visits regularly. He ofter resorts to this type of Internet Terrorism with our office.. If we don't get him in the same day or if his order is not ready the very next day, he will have words with us..He will verbally threaten us that he will spread bad things about our office on the Internet, so we make an extra effort to get him out of our office quickly and if there is an order we have to fill for him we will pay extra to have it overnighted to our office the next day when possible.
I feel bad for anyone who comes in contact with him. He should be on meds to calm him down..

Tony - I will speak with Samsung tech support tomorrow morning before I come over and make sure the specs are what I need for this camera.  I am not going to spend your money without thoroughly researching the capabilities to make sure it is what we want.  I have a meeting in Manhattan Beach at 9:00AM and then I will continue the installation of the cameras.  I need to stop at Home Depot for some steel weatherproof boxes for the vestibule etc., and more baluns.  Then I will be there.  I attached the manual for the Samsung SNP-5200H which I have been studying.  Check it out.  It is a complicated system!

I have literally spent all afternoon researching the best cam and price/performance for you. I am going to take a break now and get some dinner. I am probably more concerned about spending your money than you are!

After careful consideration, the PTZ web cam should be kept separate from the surveillance system. You don't want to give out your public IP address of your router or have the bandwidth of your system eaten up by the megapixel camera. I like this cam. I looked at the analog 27X zoom
version and the resolution is 809X700 or so. The camera below is IP based, the software runs on all PCs and Macs, it has PoE+ (power over ethernet) and has 20X zoom. It is an IP cam with 1280X1024 resolution.

http://www.samsung-security.com/SAMSUNG/upload/Product_Specifications/SNP-5200H-Specifications.pdf
I got a lot done today in just 4-1/2 hours. Check the northeast corner of the building and you will see the two new bullets. I am going to order some more tomorrow, then drive to ADI in Carson, pick up more cable and baluns, and Home depot for some more steel boxes. Think about where else you want to have eyes around the building. call me tomorrow when you get up 310-710-8304.

I am still looking for the best high-def camera with audio. The Axis camera that EarthCam was talking about is really nice is also
$3500.!!!!! I will check with ADI and see what their price is. There are ones for around $2500 that do what you want them to do.

This one is less money - check it out. Look at the whole Axis line of outdoor PTZ high-def domes and tell me which one you like the best

his email to me about streaming video.

AUTHOR: tony vera echevarria - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, January 15, 2012

Tony - I was sending video over networks in the 90's.  Read all about it this article in "InfoWorld" from almost 17 years ago.  I had 9 computers in my loft and did demos of this concept all over Los Angeles.  I had 9 different video codecs that I was using.  You are using two.  Read the article about StarWorks and what it says about me.  I was a pioneer in networking video.

http://books.google.com/books?id=pDoEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA45&lpg=PA45&dq=bill+farhood&source=bl&ots=nkJhzy-ipf&sig=uB_NvWFj26zi1-1n6O8a9PlzZFQ&hl=en&ei=ckfWSqeSDZPYsgOo6JnVAg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=10&ved=0CCEQ6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q=bill%20farhood&f=false

Please don't insult me by sending links about streaming video.

This is a email from bill to my web girl  i paid him in fill i have all the emails Alex, you should already have the Samsung SNP-5200-H manual and the link to get the pdf is here if you don't.

http://www.samsungtechwin.com/product/product_view.asp?idx=6460&cid=83&clvl=0#FL080000

Page 52 deals with the different ports which must be forwarded on the router and I would keep the ones I have programmed in there unless you have a problem because I got them from the manual except for one from Samsung Techwin which is different than the documentation.  Also page 65 and 66 may have something significant for your programmer.  I don't know  Pages 81 and 82 deal with security and SSL, I don't know if that is useful to you.  Also, these are the specs for the protocols below and it can be management compliant (SNMP).  I don't know if any of that helps you.

Ethernet RJ-45 (10/100BASE-T)
Video Compression Format H.264, MPEG-4, MJPEG
Resolution
1280x1024, 1280x720P(HD), 1024x768, 800x600,

Max. Framerate 30fps at all resolutions
Video Quality Adjustment
H.264/MPEG-4 : Compression Level,
Target Bitrate Level Control
MJPEG : Quality Level Control
Bitrate Control Method
H.264/MPEG-4 : CBR or VBR
MJPEG : VBR
Streaming Capability Multiple Streaming (Up to 10 Profiles)
Audio I/O Mic / Line in, Line out
Audio Compression Format G.711 -law
Audio Communication 2-Way
IP IPv4, IPv6

Protocol

TCP/IP, UDP/IP, RTP(UDP), RTP(TCP), RTSP, NTP,

IGMP, SNMPv1/v2c/v3(MIB-2), ARP, DNS, DDNS

Finally, Tony bumped his upstream to 2 mbps and was getting slightly less with a speed test.  Download is 10 times as fast.  Maybe you could limit the traffic of the Speco DVR or take it off Tony's Time Warner connection totally and let Alan get a Time Warner Business Line for the security DVR just like Avon Way for $64/month with normal speed and get it off of Tony's connection altogether.

On 11/25/2011 10:37 AM, Alex wrote:So the software to grab both the audio and video from the camera successfully has the signal. We are halfway there. Now the code to compress the signal and mux it to stream out has to be written and fully tested. That camera is not easy to talk to. The goal is to have that done by Sunday night, and then Monday I can send the video signal to Stream Host to mirror it out. I will let you know of any other relevant updates. There may be a bandwidth issue of streaming the camera AND if Tony wants to upload video or anything else huge that will sop up bandwidth. Won't know until the camera is fully up and can be tested... but that will just mean calling Time Warner to up the bandwidth. I will let you know.

when he came wthLAPD he did not wanr to give mr my money back just takr cams his email Tony - I know what the problem is.  I am waiting for UPS.  Please be patient.  There is only one way to do this and that is the right way.  I have been doing this a long time.  I spent another two hours this morning researching all the capabilities and reading the manual.  I need to get a microphone and also an SD card since it records memory within the camera itself.  It is extremely delicate and until all the wires are in it and power is applied, and the camera is configured, and the router ports are forwarded, nothing will work.  Just hang in there.  Nothing happens instantaneously.  I will be over after UPS gets here.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Tony Vera - what a loser!

AUTHOR: penthousebf - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, January 15, 2012

Dear Reader:

I am writing in response to the false and unfortunate attacks made against me by Tony Vera on this site, and on his site tonyvera.com.  Mr. Vera retained me to install 11 high-resolution cameras and a start-of-the-art PTZ streaming camera system for $10,500.  Both of these systems function perfectly.  Mr. Vera, however, has yet to pay the final installment of $2,500, which is the subject of a pending lawsuit.  He states that I was retained to install a Samsung streaming camera that would provide real-time streaming on his website.  That is untrue and he has no documentation to establish his claim.  I purchased a camera that he selected and requested and charged him my cost, in addition to the complete surveillance system that I installed.  I was never hired to write software to stream video to a website.  Mr. Vera has engaged in a series of negative posts and tweets since mid-November.  I arrived at his home with local police and offered to return the camera.  Mr. Vera refused to return the camera and would not allow entry to the building.  I am a licensed, bonded, and insured C-7 California low-voltage electrical contractor since 1983 with a spotless record of service.  I have literally hundreds of cameras and dozens of DVR surveillance systems working flawlessly in the Los Angeles area in the past few years alone.   I do voice, data, video, fiber optics, control systems and all low-voltage work.  I have worked all over the country, including New York, Nevada, Utah, Washington state, and Arizona.  I do not provide web design, website software, or live-streaming software.  I have never had a dispute or insurance claim filed against me in 29 years of contracting.  I am thankful that we live in a society that protects freedom of expression.  However, it is also painful and frustrating that these constitutional protections can be used to attack individuals such as myself, because of ulterior motives.  Accordingly, I hope that you will evaluate any claim Mr. Vera makes with scrutiny.  Mr. Vera has also recently posted a video of himself while quite drunk, stating that he had "fallen off the wagon" following a settlement with Mike Tyson where it was alleged that Mike Tyson battered Mr. Vera as a result of being intrusive.  The site was live at http://venice311.org/2011/11/12/addiction-recovery-relapse-and-life-living-in-venice-beach-tony-vera-video/ but has since been privatized.  I am sorry for the battles that Mr. Vera faces.  However, I continue to provide top-quality low-voltage services in the Venice and Marina del Rey areas and should not be subject to baseless attacks.  Thank you for taking the time to read my response.
