Bjørn Eirik Birkeland Luminiser Bjorn hired us, waited for us to do work, and then made wild accusation and threats to defame us to get his money back Denver Colorado

About a week ago we reached out to Luminiser (luminiser.com/) because they are running a Kickstarter campaign and we run a PR agency that works with Kickstarter. 

After hiring us for our smallest package of $1,000 he sent over the money and asked us when we were going to begin work. I emailed him and told him that it takes us 24-36 hours to get the initial pitch written and I put my writer to work doing that immediately. He emailed me several times (clearly filled with anxiety) asking when it was going to be done... I repeated what I had said to him earlier and reassured him that I would inform him the minute that it was complete. Additionally I started reaching out to people that had written articles for similar products for us before and let them know about Luminiser. In my experience when you're dealing with someone with an extraordinary anxiety thresehold the best thing you can do is get as many results as fast as possible. 

Now my writer works nights and so he sent me over his final pitch at around 1am, Bjorn lives in a drastically different time zone so I knew he would be awake. He clearly was having anxiety for whatever reason--I can only assume that he's had bad experiences in the past--so I sent him at 2am the pitch angle that we had come up with--he had been asking for it all day repeatedly so I wanted to reassure him.

He then linked me to an article written by someone that I had written earlier in the day and asked if we had gotten this article. I told him I believed it was although we hadn't pitched him only let him know about the campaign. He then called me a liar and told me he was firing me. I sent him a screenshot of the email that I sent to Mike (the writer) and then reassured him that I understood he was anxious but that we were doing our best work. Furthermore, I then spent a late night explaining how PR works because another thing I've learned is that anxiety usually stems from lack of knowledge. I then woke up at 8am PST and began outreach with my partner. Within an hour or so we had gotten a response from someone wanting to do a feature. I emailed this over to Bjorn---because hopefully now he would finally understand that he could relax and that we were doing the work. 

Did he say, "Thank you I appreciate you being patient with me and I appreciate you doing your job."? 

No.

He accused us even more of being scammers, demanded that I give him his money back, and then threatned me and my company.

I've been doing this for years and I've worked with people that are anxiety prone before, but I have NEVER seen someone that is this unprofessional. 


TLDR: He accused us of being scammers, we delivered results proving otherwise, and then he got even more beligierent.
