I left my daughter's house in NC on Dec. 26, 2007 deciding to stop off on the way home to Ohio to drive through Pigeon Forge. While site seeing, my grandaughter, and one of my daughters, and I were approached by a sales person asking us to take a tour of a local resort. In exchange for our time we were given a free lunch at Hard Rock Cafe.

After that we talked to a sales person who explained what a multi-share was and how we would get this special promotion that was supposed to have ended on Dec. 24th, and would be able to immediately turn around and sell back 4,000 of the 8,000 points we would be given by phone when we got home and put the money in an account that would most likely pay our monthly payment until the end of 2008. Now all 3 of us heard this same information. Upon getting back home we called to sell the points and were told we had to sell them ourselves. We have been trying to do that ever since, and have not been able to.

Then on Jan. 25, 2008 my bank account was debited for the monthly payment without my knowledge or consent which caused me to overdraw my account, and incur some bank fees as well. Now I am being told when I call Bluegreen Resorts that they can't help me, that they have never bought back their own points, another person told me they haven't done that since November, etc.....In other words we were lied to.

One person actually told me that the saleman would tell me anything to get me to commit to the sale. Is that legal? I am needing help to cancel any and all agreements I have with this company. I do not have the money to pay them. I live on a small pension and can hardly pay my monthly bills now. If anyone can help me, it would be appreciated.
thank you,

Helen

Hi,
Sorry to hear about your problem I am a Bluegreen Owner and we are very happy with them . However you were lied to by the sales person Bluegreen does not buy back points. Please check your paperwork and read the small print somewhere in there is a clause telling you that you have x number of days to cancel the contract but i am afraid you may have left it to late.
Please try phoneing Bluegreen again or ask your daughter to phone but ask to speak to the Owner Services Manager, ensure it is the manager you are speaking to and explain what has happened, I am not sure if she will be able to help but at least it is worth another go. Did the salesperson go through all the paperwork with you did you tick all the boxes saying you understood everything.
I do hope that you can get this sorted since it is people like this salesperson that do give companies a bad name, they should have asked about your income and then it would have become obvious you were not in a position to purchase these points.
Please make sure that all these points are mentioned when you phone Bluegreen.
If you are unable to sort it please ask your daughter to contact each member of the board of directors explaining what has happened, I am sure that they will help since this salesperson is not someone any company would like to employ.
Good luck
