I have a small mobile business in Las Vegas that caters to tourists and has the potential to grow rapidly. I needed marketing, and had no idea where to start.

My husband found blur group and set up an account. Michelle, a representative from Blur Group, spoke with us about; budget, what we do and what we are looking for, etc.. I gave her a clear explanation of our operation and what we are expecting from marketing. I also told her that I am not extremely knowledgeable when it comes to various marketing tactics (especially online ones, ex; web crawling and native ads), so I anticipate that blur group will help lead the way.

What a disaster!!!... She sent over 3 pitches, 1 of which was a copy and pasted outline from some public relations website and was not personalized at all. (I could have done that myself) Another was a pitch that was full of major grammatical errors, as well as amateur marketing tactics, such as; making and printing out flyers. The third pitch was was okay, but, it had no web optimization.

I got in contact with her again, and, I shared my concerns. She said she wasn't sure of exactly what we wanted the first time (Though we discussed it in length) She also admitted she knows very little about Search Engine Optimization and Website building, but will get help. Later that week I got another pitch that finally was SEO focused, but was 10x our discussed budget.

At this point I was quite frustrated. I emailed with detailed legitimate reasons as to why the process has been disappointing thus far. She said, if we don't commit to a project, we will be obligated to pay the "listing fee". I told her that i would prefer to be proactive with where my money is going, and, I would like to just get a pitch that is reasonable to our needs.

Weeks later we got a call from collections. They said she tried calling us multiple time, then put it in collections. When I emailed her and told her, she admitted she only tried calling once. The project is abandoned and in a $375.00 sink hole. Blur Group is a joke.

In the words of an actual Blur Group employee, " Don't expect to be paid on projects you sell, because they all fall apart. All they want to do is charge a listing fee to everyone even though they only have a handful of experts to do the work. " (www.glassdoor.com) Save yourself the headache, and, find a reputable marketing company.
