Rip off bank stay away fees galore fees on top of monthly fees ! You opt out on debit card they jam it thru to get more fees ! No help they will close your account after 10 years because they do not like your attitude. In the way they steal from you and not let you no was a great bank when it was just Harris bank . A joke with fees monthly fees now $15 daily fee on top of the fee over 2 cents is $38 . Your feed on top of uncollected funds . A item ck you don’t write fees are $48 . Customer service horrible they lie cheat steal . Promise you a refund then don’t do it . Not very bright people at the bank no help I strongly advise to not bank with any bmo . You will be sorry they only want the rich people. And they get mad when you complain if they rip you off if they don’t like your attitude what a joke if you stole from them you be in jail . But it’s ok for them to steal from you a license to steal . The feds must look into their fees and they do not follow the law if you opt out of a debit purchase to be declined instead they will jam thru a small purchase to make more fees . And hold your funds longer to make more fees . Use to be a great bank on the 90s when it was Harris bank . Another to big to fail . But fee crazy serious if you want to be ripped off stay with them you will be fees to death . Not a good bank stay with. A credit union. Bank more caring look for better options . You will be sad when they fee you to death . And do not follow federal banking laws . Not lieing do not want see others ripped off . Or fees to death and get your account closed without them telling you . Find a better bank their their bmo in my opinion is a horrible horrible ruthless bank fee happy . Thanks only the truth

All Banks Are Same - So Are CU's

AUTHOR: Jim - (United States)

Perhaps the better solution is for you not to have a bank account - clearly you have no idea how to either manage the account, or money in general.  You don't have to be rich to avoid account fees.  You simply how to manage your account and your money.  Overdrawing your account the way you do is idiotic and avoidable.  After all, it is your account.  All the bank does is manage the deposits and withdrawls from the account you direct then to do.  If you spend more than what you have, is that the bank's fault?  NO.  If you want to complain about the fees - don't.  You agreed to those fees when you signed up for the account.  You may not like it, but it's what you agreed to.

Are credit unions better?  Marginally.  Some have adopted the same fee structure as banks do, so the universal thought that credit unions are always better, isn't so true any longer.  They also provide less services than a bank would, which makes them marginal institutions.

Your complaint has nothing to do with your lack of wealth, or that rich people don't have issues like this.  Rich people I know have this issue happen to them and many poor people don't have this issue.  Maybe a rich person can afford to do this, but eventually they won't be rich if it continues for any length of time.  The poor who can avoid this, eventually can learn to be rich.

Rich vs. poor has nothing to do with what happened to you.  Your own mismanagement of your own money is the problem...and that is the real truth.

So when you get a new monthly fee increase !

AUTHOR: Loul - (United States)

And your over about a dollar you deserve a $48 of fee plus a $7 dollar fee fees on top of fees monthly maintenance fee on what ?and the person says do not spend to much ! Must be a rich person not to understand how it’s set up to fail . Or must work in a bank to like fees maybe they have not been fees to death wait till it happens to them ! Peace out everyone knows how to spend but when you opt out to not have a purchase to go thru then forced thru for $5 then you get jammed for $48 a joke ! Lol does not get it . Need to stay with small banks credit union.. watch what you spend your right use a credit card pay it in full every month ! No fees find a free feeless bank ! Got ITV glad your rich ! What a joke does not get it must not happened to him yet . Thanks kindly

Simple solution that always works

AUTHOR: coast - (United States)

Perhaps you should consider not attempting to spend more money than what is in your account.
