Hired him to provide me with a simple kitchen renovation and a few additional jobs in adjacent rooms. He took over 4 months to partially complete the job leaving me to live in a dusty construction zone the entire time and finally decided that my project was no longer worth persuing and abandoned it at the 3/4 mark. The work that was done was of very poor workmanship. He used the deposit money and payment installments to fund other contract issues he had elsewhere - he managed this by supplying inexpensive material.
Once the cabinet doors warped and the drawers no longer slid square - he basically decided to bolt and abandon the job. I had to do the electrical because he was not about to hire anyone and his 'electrical' skills were scary at best. I also had to take over the painting at the 4 month mark since I could see that his tactics were to delay beyond comprehension.
SERVICES NOT YET RENDERED
- install sub floor in adjacent rooms (client to provide material)
- paint exterior door, windows, siding + exterior painting to finish
- Recycling area in kitchen - framing and finish
- paint main area, kitchen and additional wall
- electrical work
PENDING ISSUES
- Drawer runners not lined up
- Mis-aligned cabinet doors
- Warped cabinet doors
- Major chips in tub and sink porcelain
- Badly scratched kitchen floor tiles

After many more calls to his helper - it appears that they are going to remedy some (hopefully all) of my issues. Nothing has been done as of yet - but someone did come by and take measurements yesterday.
