I have a 2001 Monte Carlo it has only 37,500 miles and has been to the dealership for every scheduled maintenance. The speedometer started fluctuating so I took it into Bob Montgomery's Chevrolet for the repairs.
A diagnostics test was done which confirmed a faulty cluster. The following day I received a phone call from the dealership and they informed me that I also needed new brakes, and there was a hole in each of my back tires and my catalytic converter was clogged.
I agreed to the repairs on a Friday. Monday morning they called to inform me all the work was done. However, when they drove it around the building they realized my transmission was shot!
They told me it would be $1500 to rebuild it, I told them that was impossible since I wasn't having any problems before I took it there. He then told me that he would call Chevrolet to see if they would help since the car did have low miles,was well maintained and I was such a loyal customer.
Chevrolet offered a 50/50 split which still cost me $2120.12. Several mechanics I have spoke with say I am being ripped off, please help!
