Bow Tie Cinemas Wrongful Termination, Dishonest and Extremely Unprofessional Company Richmond, Virginia

I used to work at the Bow Tie Cinemas in Richmond, Virginia. During my time there, the management (headed by GM Sean Macintosh) began to make several mistakes regarding my record, basically blaming me for things that had either never happened or had not been my fault. It is unclear as to whether these were just really bad mistakes or if they were just flat out lying, though some of the incidents are rather hard to dismiss as just mistakes.

These errors/lies led to my eventual termination despite me trying to explain to them how these things didn't/couldn't have happened. After the dismissal, I spent the next four months trying to contact Jenifer Pellegrino, HR director of Bow Tie Cinemas, having sent multiple emails, called multiple times, and even sending a letter by post, all explaining how Macintosh and his team had wrongfully terminated my position. I finally decided to coax a response by striking a nerve with her, and that very day, received an email telling me my complaint had been received.

Assuming that she was intelligent enough to understand the situation, I believed she would help reinstate my position since the management team had been in error, but she decided to uphold the multiple lies and even add a few of her own, telling me that she had tried to call me multiple times (she called ONCE) and that scheduling had prevented us from communicating (answer multiple emails or voicemails at one's own convenience has nothing to do with scheduling).

Since she was unwilling to do her job, I decided to attempt contact with Joe Masher (Chief Operating Officer) and Ike Rivera (Operations Officer). So far, I've left several emails and a couple of voicemails for them, but have yet to hear anything back. They apparently take little interest when their staff blunders and misbehaves.

Another pair of lies that Ms. Pellegrino wrote to me in an email stated "Bow Tie Cinemas is committed to providing an environment that that is free of any harassment or mistreatment of their employees" and "we took the appropriate measures to investigate your concerns." Allowing such mistreatment to stand immediately proves the first statement false while the second was proved false when she decided to uphold fabricated information.

My treatment by this company has been inexcusable. They have shown that they are a company that is dishonest, unprofessional, and constantly making mistakes. A company that was actually professional would have
done away with people like Mr. Macintosh and Ms. Pellegrino for behaving like this, but they allow them to continue to tarnish the company's image with their unprofessional behavior, which continues without consequence.

It is most unfortunate that no one at Bow Tie was willing to correct these multiple mistakes, and merely goes to show that they will always remain a small chain as long as they allow these kinds of people to run their business without regard for moral or ethical decency.
