I contacted Charles Lee from the Boyd Capital Group about a hard money loan for a property that I intended to purchase in New Jersey.  He said that he could do business in New Jersey, and asked me to submit my financials as well as a loan application, which I did.  He immediately issued me a prequalification letter and led me to believe he was working on my loan.  About a week later he told me that he needed to move my file to n officer he had in New Jersey because of a licensing problem.  I began working with this "offer" only to find out that they thought I was applying for a new mortgage.  It was confusing to them and to me, but to make matters worse Charles starting using the words "his lender" although he told me he was the lender. I was told that the lender was working on the loan, and that I would have a final commitment in 48 hours.  I waited almost two weeks before learning that the lender had asked for additional information.  I sent this information to Charles Lee and asked if he could ask for a status update.  He told me he would.  In one of his emails he had listed the underwriter's name, from a company called "Normandy Corporation" in Rochester, New York.  He told me not to call her, but I did.  It turns out that she never heard of Charles Lee, never talked to him, and never received the additional information that was sent from the New Jersey firm he found because of the "licensing issue" and not from him.  He purposely did not contact me or pass my information along, and I wasted four weeks with a contract on a place that I am buying as well as the condo I am selling.  This man is dishonest and deceitful, and I'm just sorry I didn't find the other report about this man and his company on ripoffreport.com.  Beware to anyone looking to do business with this person.

MONEY NEED NOT BE EXCHANGED FOR A CRIME TO BE COMMITTED

AUTHOR: Michael Tolliver - ()

POSTED: Sunday, June 15, 2014

I am reading many comments on this person that scammed me one year ago.  I am glad that people are speaking up, because many times people don't.

His defense is that since he didn't directly receive money, then he didn't do anything wrong.  However, what he seems to think is okay is jerking people around when they are trying to buy a house.  Trying to "broker" a deal between himself and another lender, in essence becoming a middle person, so that he can take a cut of the money.  Then, if if doesn't work, he walks away leaving the home buyer with no mortgage and weeks or months of time wasted during the process in which the buyer has to start over, often times forcing the seller to go with t a different buyer.  If Charles Lee doesn't see anything wrong with this, then all we can do is make sure that people understand his type of "ethics."  Surf the internet, find out about this person before you too are scammed.  This man should be held accountable for his actions.

Charles Lee is a Liar and Thief

AUTHOR: Kim Taylor - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, May 28, 2014

Charles Lee is the owner of "the boyd capital groups" Charles Lee is nothing more than a liar and a thief. He stole close to $100,000 of my money through outright lies. He took my deposit money on a property that we both were working on in Calhoun, Georgia and has run off with the money. A hard core liar and thief, he is very good at what he does. This guy is dangerous and will take your money. He also has serious anger issues as well and is capable of going into screaming rages over the phone. Run away fast from this liar and thief.

I have attached his email to me:
Thank  you so much for talking to me today.   As discussed, here are the details of the property and the requested loan amount.
Property Location:  959 Midwood Road, Rahway, NJ  http://www.coldwellbankermoves.com/property/details/3339679/MLS-2995664/959-Midwood-Dr-Rahway-NJ-07065.aspx
Sales Price (my contract amount):  $385,000
Requested Loan Amount:  $300,000 (could be less if necessary to get the loan)
Credit Report:  Attached.  The one thing that you need to know, other than the late payments which I am trying to have removed by Wells Fargo is that after Wednesday my debt to income ratio will change positively for the better.  I will be paying $15,000 to credit cards (from my tax refund) to increase my credit score and positively affect my debt to income ratio.
Salary:  I currently make $130,000 per year.
Current Real Estate Situation:  I just sold my condo for $675,000 which I purchased for $640,000 in 2007.  I expect to use the equity from the sale to put towards the purchase price of the new home in Rahway.  I know you said that you didn't need to see the contract, but I attached it just in case.  I have also attached the contract for the new house I want to purchase.  It might provide you with some information that might be helpful.
Obviously the seller is very anxious, and so are the real estate agents (and so am I).  If you could possibly let me know early tomorrow if you think you will be able to work with me I would greatly appreciate it.

Response to NJ - Deal Micheal Tolliver

AUTHOR: CBL - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 26, 2013

Am always interested in how someone can make a claim of damage when no money change hand. This
was a Client Michael Tolliver "mtolliver@mckissack.com" The detail of the transaction was correct but no one can provide a Owner Occupied Hard Money loan in NJ at 90% LTV,

Really and its my fault.  And if he had made his mortgage payment I had a lender that was considering the loan.

And what I hate about Rippoff report people reporting can remain hidden but not this time.
