Went in for a deluxe oil change & filter.. Took 4 hours for them to even get around to getting my car on the rack. After getting my car on the rack, I noticed it sat on the rack for 20 minutes.

While sitting in the waiting room, I noticed a young man approached the car & pulled the oil plug & while the oil was draining another employee pulled the tires to check the brakes & put the tires back on. I know something about mechanics & the lube job that went along with the oil change was never performed.

I confronted the garage attendant in front of the manager & asked him if the lube job had been performed. He replied yes. While the car was being driven out to the parking lot as if completed, I noticed oil leaking from under car. The attendant then asked me to reopen the hood as he had forgotten to tighten the oil filter.

I then asked if he had also forgotten the lube job & he answered no. Took the car back to rack where I made a visual inspection myself. None of the grease fittings had been touched. A confrontation then arose between myself & lead mechanic regarding the lack of service, & he told me to leave the bay or he wouldn't finish the job I had already paid for.

Brake Masters not taking responsibility for their mistake

AUTHOR: Norma&cnarles - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 16, 2003

After having oil changed Fri (5/9/03) we traveled to Prescott & broke down due to incompetent workmanship when changing oil previous day. Vehicle towed into shop with bad oil leak & gage showing only 2 qts oil in engine. Oil was leaking badly from where oil filter seals onto engine. Oil filter had markings on it consistent with being tightened too tightly with an oil filter strap wrench. When removing oil filter, 2 gaskets were found as they neglected to remove old gasket when installing new filter.

It was necessary to drive the vehicle for more than 10 miles to get help & fear of damage being done to an engine with only 40,000 miles on it was dismissed by Break Masters in Prescott & Kingman. Corporate headquarters gave us a limited warranty on engine components in order for us to get home.

Vehicle broke down again 5/15/03 attempting to reach Kingman & we had to be towed again. Brake Masters will not check out the engine to see what damage has occurred. The engine has sustained damage & now looking at a law suit to end this corruption.
