DO NOT BUY FROM 516 JOES ...

I bid on a girls' bicycle being auctioned by eBay seller 516joes. His starting bid was $10.00 and he wanted $40.00 for S&H. I BID $10.75. (Cigna Blue Dirt Bike, Excellent Condition, Garage Kept Item number: 7150680291)

I asked if I could pick the bicycle up because I lived nearby. He responded, "yes, of course". Then 1 day before the auction ended on April 26, 2005, some one else outbid me with $11.25.

I accepted the fact that I did not win but then I saw 516joes had the same bicycle up for auction again on May 3, 2005 (Cigna Blue Dirt Bike, Excellent Condition, Garage Kept Item number: 7154281835) Then it was obvious to me that he had a friend outbid me. He did not want to only get the auction price of $10.00. Apparently he makes his money on the outrageous S&H.

User ID Bid Amount Date of bid

Rose is another clueless poster.

AUTHOR: Denny - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 13, 2005

Rose, there is no supposition to make since the bidder exhibited no "shilling" behavior whatsoever.
WHY are you ignoring the facts and jsut going by your uniformed and non-factual based opinions?

The bidder bid on TWO similar bikes ( FACT 1 )
The bidder won both auctions which ended on the same day ( FACT 2 )

So if bidder decides not to PAY for both auctions, then BOTH sellers do not get paid.

FACT 3: A seller has every right to relist items that were not paid for.

Its easy to deduce from the EVIDENCE AT HAND, that Winning BIDDER on the auction that the OP of this article, did not PAY for the bike in question. So SELLER of that bike has three choices:
1) RELIST
2) HAGGLE with EBAY to get winning bidder to pay
3) OFFER SECOND CHANCE to anyone ELSE who bidded on the auction.

AS A SELLER, I would do #1. For a $10 bike, it isn't worth it to go through choices #2 & #3

Please, all those that agree with the OP on this article, LIST your ebay Id's so we can put you on our Blocked Bidder's list.

If someone were to "shill" on any auction, IT definitely would not be for a mere $10 on a bike.

I hope your claims are factual

AUTHOR: Richard - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 13, 2005

I hope your claims are factual. Did you already file your complaint with Ebay? Because, if Ebay finds the seller has not commit any violations. The seller has the right to take action against you for publicly slandering the seller, by posting on the rip off report. If you felt you have been wronged you should of taken action with Ebay first. But obvious you jumped the gun and deliberately bad mouth the seller with really no proof. Just because you were a soar loser in the auction, is this how you behave every time someone outbids you? Maybe you shouldn't use Ebay and stick to yard sales to avoid packing and shipping cost too. $40 bucks sounds about right to ship a bike. Packaging the bike cost money too. I knowbecause I am a seller as well as a buyer in the Ebay community.

The good part about what you did, is publicly making scene for yourself. Anybody that is a seller on Ebay can ban you from bidding on their auction. Simply black listing you in their bidder/buyer block list. I just added you to my list and perhaps many other sellers are probably doing same thing too. What are you going to do when you try to place a bid on someone's auction, only to find out that your are blocked?

Anyways you probably never lost a penny on the matter. Maybe, Ebay is not for you.

Just a tid bit. You have the right to free speech, however you are liable for damages you may cause to whomever.

Oh Denny, get on your surfboard and hang ten ...

AUTHOR: Rose - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 13, 2005

You say: (without proof either)
I dont see anything in royalprod's history to show that he was "shilling" for the seller of #7150680291. He shows the exact behavior of someone who found TWO similar bikes on EBAY, bid ON BOTH auctions, hoping to win 1 of them. HE won both. #7152171277 WAS A BETTER BUY since it was BRAND NEW, whereas the other one was USED.

So he probably told #7152171277 that he wasn't interested. Seller of #7152171277 just relisted the bike because royalprod didn't complete the auction terms ( by paying for it) Sellre has every right to relist the auction.

I say:
and you know all this, how??? Supposition, well, that does not meet the criteria for a defense ...

I agree with Apple, and Kelli as well ...

are you by any chance the 10 yr old cousin of 516joes? Or are YOU in touch with royalprod? You seem so angry and definite ... leave the ppl alone ... they are warning others to stay away from some slime bag seller .. perhaps you should take up SAVE THE WHALES

If I did not know better I would think you were the brother of this sleaze bucket! Get a life!

Rose and OP are blind ignorant about eBay or how it works.

AUTHOR: Denny - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 12, 2005

What did the seller do wrong? Please cite the policies that he has violated. He listed an auction, the winner was bidding on two auctions at the same time for similar bikes, he won both, probably hoping that he would only win 1, and getting outbid on at least one of hte auctions. Bidder realizes this, and probably tells seller of the auction that he made a mistake.

Crap happens. The seller did nothing wrong.

Both ROSE and the original author of this report show that they are ignorant about eBay or how it works.

Please, before the both of you make any replies, post the exact policies, and proof that the seller violated them.

Other than that, both of you are clueless. I dont have problems. I however, have problems with idiots who file false claims when its APPARENT what really happened:

Both winning bidder: royalprod and Original author: biligkaufer bid on item #7150680291
royalprod also bid on this item #7152171277
Both auctions ended April 26, 2005

I dont see anything in royalprod's history to show that he was "shilling" for the seller of #7150680291. He shows the exact behavior of someone who found TWO similar bikes on EBAY, bid ON BOTH auctions, hoping to win 1 of them. Unless the both of you provide proof otherwise, this is a FALSE report and will remain that until PROOF is revealed.

AUTHOR: Rose - (U.S.A.)

I suggest you report this seller to eBay, it's not legal what he did.

Just wait and see if the bicycle is listed again and then you will know.

It sounds as if Denny has an issue ... how can you possibly offer more proof .. grow up ...

OMG, can't even admit that you are wrong

AUTHOR: Denny - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 12, 2005

Apple, just admit you are wrong, and have been shown to be wrong. And again, Ill show you that you are wrong again:

1) What does his feedback have to do with anything? I've done over 1000 transactions as buyer and seller on ebay. I only have 500+ feedbacks out of 700+ left by those I've dealt with. Newsflash, feedback is voluntary, and doesn't mean that everyone will receive or give feedback. And this is only the 2nd week of May. That's only 2 weeks for the bike to get delivered. Some sellers wait 90 days before leaving feedback. On one transaction, I left feedback for a buyer 47 days after auction end.

2) YOU did not check the winning bidder out. Otherwise, you would have seen that he bid on another BICYCLE auction that had ended at the same time the one you bid on did. YOU would have known that HE did not initiate a bid retraction on both auctions, so WHY would there be a bid retraction report? HE WON Both auctions, thinking that he would probably ONLY have won 1 of them. When I see similar items on ebay, I usually keep them in my "watch" list on MyEbay page. If its early in the game, I bid on the auctions, hoping that I would win one of them. If no one outbids me on one of them, then I do a retraction. Maybe the "bidder" didn't anticipate winning both? It happens. It happened to me ( i forgot to make sure the ending time of one of the auctions ). So he could either 'pay up' or tell the seller "oops sorry, didn't mean to win ".

3) YOU show that you are clueless about ebay when you stated that you didn't get a SECOND CHANCE OFFER.. NEWSFLASh, Second Chance offer is a VOLUNTARY initiative on the SELLER's part to take advantage of. That means, HE/SHE has a choice NOT TO USE IT, and opt to RELIST THE ITEM, which would RETURN THE LISTING FEES AND FINAL value fee that the original auction had incurred. THE SELLER IS NOT obligated to SELL or OFFER the item to the second highest bidder. AS a SELLER, I NEVER use Second Chance offer. The sellre could have cared less if you were the 2nd highest or the lowest bidder on his/her auction.

4) What does having my living in Hawaii have anything to do with your report or Ny or the seller or bidders in question? Conspiracy maybe? ONLY IN YOUR OWN DELUDED mind! What, too afraid to admit that you got spanked because I just proved you wrote a false report on TWO innocent people, and your "rip off" didn't happen!!!
TO BE RIPPED OFF
Apple, I would suggest that you sit down and READ what ebay is about, how it works, cause right now, you are no smarter than my 10 year old cousin who could have seen that you report has no founding whatsoever. YOU owe both the Seller and the WINNING bidder an apology ,and an apology to those of us here, who had to read your lunatic posting.

update so I stand by my original statement

AUTHOR: Apple - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 10, 2005

I did look at the winning bidder's account ... he did not have any feedback since 4-20-05 ... and he has NO bid retractions ... I do not know who outbid me but I did NOT get a second chance notice .. so I stand by my original statement.

I believe there is something fishy in Honolulu as well ... I do not know what the distance between NY and HI has to do with anything ... I did notify eBay ...

Try this test. logical test to see if this person really is ripping you off.

AUTHOR: Patrick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 10, 2005

Let me preface this by saying that I have never used ebay and really don't know how it works except for the basics. But there may be a logical test to see if this person really is ripping you off.

Since there is another similar bike up for bid, place another bid and see if you win the auction. Be sure to state again that you would pick up the bike in person instead of having it shipped. If the same thing happens again, and another similar bike comes up for bid, then I'd say you have a certified scammer.

But then again, it may have all been just a fluke. I would not be surprised if it cost close to $40 to ship a fully assembled dirt bike via UPS.

As stated above....You are wrong about this guy.

Next time be sure before defaming someone.

BTW, it isn't hard to make sure of this before posting. Someone in Hawaii knows more about your auction than you do. You should be ashamed.

Fair is fair...Write a retraction.

Digging further, your accusastions are unfounded

AUTHOR: Denny - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 10, 2005

Next time before slinging false accusations, you might wanna have a look at the "winning" bidder.

He bid on TWO similar BIKES , hoping to at least win one of the auctions. Well, he didn't get "outbid" on either and won both auctions. So he probably went with the "better" (item number 7152171277) bike and backed out on the latter bike ( which was the auction you bid on ). So your seller had to probably relist because the buyer backed out.

So, you better retract this report. Its a false allegation, and no rip of occured. Offer an apology for posting this garbage.

What proof do you have?

AUTHOR: Denny - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 10, 2005

It doesn't look like any "friend/relative" bid on the former auction.

What proof do you have?
Post proof. Do you have the ocntact information for both? Why if someone outbids you you automatically assume that its a friend or relative? What if hte buyer of the original backed out of the transaction ( it happens more often than you know )

516JoeS - contact EBAY and let them know what he is doing because it is illegal.

AUTHOR: Kelli - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, May 09, 2005

I noticed the bike tonight was listed on EBAY. You need to contact EBAY and let them know what he is doing because it is illegal. That bike should be yours but instead he had a friend or family member bid on it so noone else could have it.

It is one thing if your family bids and pays another to just raise it up so noone can bid on it.
