Bristol West Insurance Services, Inc. Company demands unearned money and threatens with derogatory credit report Davie FL, Independence OH Florida, Ohio

When we first contracted Bristol West for auto Insurance, we signed up with a provider who, while on the phone with a representative of the company, he gave us the quote we were supposed to pay thereafter monthly, by EFT through our checking account. Within nine days after the policy started the company started to announce raise in premium and from 08 March 2008 to 30 March the policy was to increase by $ 162 Dollars per month. Non of the information that was given to establish this policy had changed or kept silent, all information was true 100%, yet the company claimed not having received the information at all. After sending Bristol West all requested info the policy was not changed to its agreed on amount instead they demanded more money. We then canceled the Policy and contracted another insurance company (better prices, better coverage). Bristol West continues to demand money that they have not earned or provided any service for, and threatened collections as well as derogatory reports to credit reporting agencies. Though we had paid all premiums up to the date of cancellation, wrote numerous letters certified with return receipt, showed them all proof of payments and correct information, and even ordered to cease and desist to collect on this false claim, and even the independent provider that sold us the policy to begin with assured us that this would go away, because Bristol West is clearly in the wrong, yet the harassment continues. We do not have the time or money to invest in long drawn out lawsuits and therefore most likely have to pay their false demand so that we will not become victims of a bad credit report. Buyer beware.
