I ordered a webcam online,5 minutes later I found a new model that I liked better so I wanted to change the order. I called in and I was told that I can't change the order(??), then I decided to cancel it but I was told I can only REQUEST a cancel but that means that the order might get shipped anyway.

I got mad , that never happened to me before with any other online company.I called in within 5 to 10 minutes after I placed the order and I was told I can't cancel the order. Their canceling policy on their website clearly states that the customer can cancel the order within first 15 minutes.

Later that day I received an email that request for cancel was unsuccessful and the item was shipped. I called the customer service (btw. located in Philippines) and didn't get any answers, they just repeat the same thing over and over. This is just plain stealing.Customer service people also lied to me about having the manager call me after his lunch. It's been 2 days since then and no phonecall. A little long lunch, isn't it Mr. Manager?

I talked to 4 different people but they just don't listen. I acted EXACTLY by their canceling policy but they stole my money anyway and shipped the item. Now I'll have to spend more of my time to run around the city with a package to be returned and wait in line at the post office.

WHY? What did I do wrong? I wish I paid with credit card, I would just stop the payment, but I used paypal and paypal dispute was closed based on not enough evidence to prove unauthorized charge. Shame on paypal as well. Where is the justice here? DON'T EVER USE BUY.COM EVER! THEY ARE BUNCH OF CROOKS AND LIARS!

The point is somewhere else. You might be right about one thing, research before you buy. Ok, This happens. I usually don't have this problems, this happened probably first time after some years that I clicked on submit the order button a little to soon. And don't tell me this never happened to you that you had to cancel some order or return something for whatever reason. The POINT is, that I found out that it was the wrong item really soon, 5 minutes after placing the order, and their canceling policy says you can cancel the order within first 15 minutes !! Do you get the point now?! If not,we have nothing to discuss, I keep repeating myself about this. So their people telling me NO, I can't cancel the order within first 5 to 10 minutes were clearly acting against the company policy. And that isn't enough, after that I called 2 more times and they kept lying about somebody calling me back to resolve this issue etc. etc. THIS IS THE POINT !!! You're living in the different world, you're talking about return policy, this is not about the return at all!! Why am I wasting my time....

You should have researched the capabilities of the camera BEFORE buying it. And you should have inquired about the return policy before assuming that it would be no problem. Common sense -- time to get some! Your deficiency in this area does NOT constitute a rip off on the part of the company!

Don't give me this "good consumer" salad, have you ever heard of compatibility issues? I simply found out this model is not good for my setup and I'm glad I found out early enough to change the order. Of the record, I wanted to purchase a camera at least twice the price of the first one. So buy.com would only make more money. But no, they can't change the order, they can't cancel the order, what the hell is this? We are talking 5 minutes after the order was placed. I was told the item entered a shipping stage. What kind of crap is that? All of this has nothing to do with them not obeying their own canceling policy. And YES, I did look up their policy before, you moron, that's why I called in 5 to 10 minutes after so they can easily cancel it. You must be one of them I guess. Why don't YOU come to my house when the stuff shows up and take it to the post office yourself! I don't have time for this. I did everything I could to prevent this. There is a lot more people with the same experience as I see on this website. I hope BUY.COM GOES UNDER really soon. And if there is anybody who is thinking about class action lawsuit against them, let me know, I'll be the first one in line.

Learn the principles of being a good consumer. Making an impulse buy, and then five minutes later wanting to cancel your order in favor of another impulse buy, is NOT one of the principles.

Did you bother to inquire about the cancellation policy BEFORE making a purchase and then cancelling it? Obviously not, as it is clearly spelled out on the website.

Your failure to be a responsible consumer does NOT constitute a rip off.
