I started working for Cajun Celtic, LLC on May 12th, 2014.  At the time I was hired I was told I would be working Monday-Friday every week and every 6 weeks I would work on a Saturday. I would work from 6 am to between 3pm and 5pm every day and my pay would be $100 a day, getting paid weekly. I had to pay for a background check and DOT physical/drug test and was promised reimbursement after a month of employment. I was also under the impression that I would be an employee of the company (on a W-2) but later I was told I was just a contractor (1099).

I started my employment on May 12th 2014 and ended it June 12th, 2014.  I received payment on May 30th, 2014 for the week of May 12th-May 17th.  I received $600. On June 6th, I was compensated another $560 for the week of May 19th to May 24th.  I never received payment for the background check/physical as promised. I was required to work every Saturday in the duration of my employment. I was told if I didn’t come in on those Saturdays then I would no longer be employed.

I was not compensated for time worked between May 27th to June 12th and Cajun Celtic, LLC told me they refuse to pay me. I worked well past the 3pm-5pm off time everyday as I was promised. We usually got off work around 10pm, sometimes later. I also worked 15, 16 hour days from my first date of employment onward. As per MODOT regulations, drivers are not to work more than 12 hours a day. It is also a requirement for drivers to be “off duty” for 10 hours between shifts. Cajun Celtic, LLC refused to follow either of these guidelines.

Although I was compensated for the first two weeks of my employment, I do not believe that I was compensated fairly. I was forced to work an average of 5 hours longer a day than originally told and I was never paid overtime or offered any other incentive other than “getting to keep my job” Being paid $100 a day for a 16 or so hour day does not even equate minimum wage. It is my belief that I never should have been characterized as a contractor (and not an employee) in the first place. I have still not been paid for three weeks work, in which time I worked a total of 231.75 hours.

- First things first. I never met a Mike. -Second, I interviewed alone, with the 3 owners of Cajiun Celtic. I was told this was a w2, and regardless of that, it does not qualify as a 1099. Thus, it would constitute 1099 abuse. Which, in itself, is a crime. Go ahead, look it up. -3rd, Sears and Diakons routes often had 50 to 500 miles missing from it. In the form of 0 miles on the sheet, and the times not adjusting to the actual time it takes to travel. (I.e. 30 miles in 2 minutes with a 30 minutes alloted install & haul away time) This, I mentioned several times. I was repeatedly told this was due to new software, and they were making adjustments and working out bugs. This is all beside the fact, they owe me a s*** load of money. They didn't pay it. Despite all the f***ed up conditions I worked with, and through, they didn't pay me my last three weeks. That, stands true. To this day. So f***ed them.

also  I was there when you were intervied everyone was explained thourghly  that this job ended when the job was over.  if cajunceltic force you to work until 10pm every night then explain why every other truck other then the trucks you operated were done no later then 5pm every day.  and also during the interview you were told that you were going to be 1099 and you agreed and signed a 1099 form so if your were still confused you should have asked more questions also you spent most your days starting problems in the ranks you did nothing all day but complain and put negative energy out to the other employees and that was since day one.

also during the interview you were told that the job paid daily not hourly (daily based off of a fully 100% completed route)  Your truck never had more then a 75% completion rate. again there is no proof or evidence that anything like what your saying took place... I wish websites like this forced you to proof your accusations before your able to for no reason trash the name of a good man and a good company. i you had been treated unfairly or scammed then one of the many places you filed complaints with about us would have found something supporting your accusations but they didn't.  realising you don't have the ability to perform a specific job in no way gives you the right to make up lies and tell them to the world good christian adults don't behave this way.  and also if you check with diakon logistice(sears) or ford storage (nebraska furniture mart) or ceva logistics or anyother last mile delivery service charge backs are common practice.
