Our experience is remarkable like the US Serviceman (Who also wrote about his experience with Cal State Moving and Storage on this site) and his family's experience with this company.
My wife was hiring another moving company to pack and store our funiture, until our move to Oregon. We knew we would pay an additional fee to move everything, but we needed our furniture packed and stored for less than 30 days. Cal State came out and bid $4,400 for the job and she hired them. Yes, the bid was in writing.
Extremely slow and the head mover, also who answers the phone, was not there to oversee the packing much. After everything was packed and aboard their truck, they presented us with a bill for over $32,000!(THAT IS RIGHT, THIRTY-TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS) After I called the company the head mover "David" called back to tell me I could have my furniture back and they would give me a ten percent discount.(Oh happy day, but that is almost the amount of the original bid of $4,400. I have decided to take these boys to court and push it all the way. If this company comes near you, my advise is to run. I bought insurance for my furniture and in looking over the copies of what they packed I am noticing they have marked many of the items they pack as "broken," which were not "broken." That would include a 52" plasma screen TV which was also not broken.
I am wondering if this company is also involved in some kind of insurance scam? Are they being paid for collecting on insurance claims the customer has never made? I don't know, but nothing would surprize me about these guys.

Here is picture of thre fellow who heads up Cal State Moving. That is the company that gave my wife a written bid of around $4,400 and then presented her with a bill for $32,000 and still has refused to answer our calls or letters. We have hired an attorney and are persuing them legally. I am also setting up a meeting with a state official to get after these losers. This company, Cal State also got the soldier who posted here about them on rip-offReport.com
Look at the picture of Cal State Mover's "offices" closely, I wish my wife had before she hired them. BTW, this guy David is mostly a webmaster and the real name of this company is Fat Cat Enterprizes. They list many moving companies on line and promise to have those companies compete for your business. Its fairly clear this is a major scam and if you call them I beleive you, like me, risk losing everything you own.

William, Cal State Movers has the legal name of Fat Cat Enterprises. Make sure you name both companies in your lawsuit, as movers will sometimes do business under one name but keep the bank accounts under the other name, thus avoiding payouts and fines.
Here is a link to their DOT report showing all information you might need for such an undertaking.
