I am the victim of harassment, intimidation and threats by Capital Acquisitions Management Company, herin after referred to as "Camco". They somehow purchased a debt which I freely admit to having owed, but also admit to having written off by the company to which the debt was owed.
The background on this debt is simple: I used to be married, and my ex wife used a credit card across the country to pay for her expenses. I had to jump through legal loopholes to clear myself, after which the company said that they were "writing this off". I then began a new life, that is, until now. I am remarried, have a home, 2 nice cars and an equity line of credit. Thank God for credit counselors.
While my credit is far from perfect, while purchasing my home this report of a debt never came up. When establishing my equity line, this debt never came up. While getting my credit card, this debt never came up. Now all of a sudden, I need to pay $9,400.00 on someone's say so? Is there anyone who knows how I can accomplish the following?
1. Trace my account's purchase trail
2. Find out what the statute of limitations for collections are in the state of Virginia?
3. Bring about a class action suit based on the collections tactics used by Camco, vs the Federal Trade Commissions' Fair Debt Collection Practices Act?
Please contact me at through the rebuttal key if you have been a victim of this company and live in Virginia.

Again, we get to see another good example of another illiterate sCamco employee. Where do you guys all come from? Is everyone in Rockford this stupid, or is it just a sCamco issue?
Let me point something out to you Ron (or whatever your real name is). Scott has done more to help people here than you have done in your entire pathetic life. Seems all you sCamco idiots take issue with Scott and others posting here, so why in the hell are you here? You have nothing new to say! And talking about ranting and raving, listen to some of your moronic co-workers. YOU GIVE ME A BREAK!! Word is spreading quickly about sCamco, and soon enough the gravey train will come to a stop. Run Ron, back to your previous job, and oh, take a hint, don't put too many fries in the box and try to put as much ice in the cup as you can.

You do not do in stat debts so shut yer hole. I have had over 1300 people email me and not ONE, NOT ONE NOT ONE NOT ONE, has given me a date of the debt earlier than 1997 and even that ONE time I was given a 1997 date I was shocked because 99% of the debts are in the early 90s or 80s. Just for the record clown the SOL on a repo is at most 4 years and often 2 years if the paperwork was not properly followed and notice of sale given which it rarely is. Since you scam company does not have paperwork a person could easily claim the 2 year old SOl on a repo so even 2002 would be SOL and you would be SOL. Before you go off spouting your vast knowledge on SOLs and fdcpa and fcra how about learn to read first and then check up on the laws. It is obvious you do not have a clue. Camco will not be around forever. More and more people are taking notice. Your company already had to change its pay scale due to the fight of consumer victims like the ones who come here. You can deny it but I got friends in Camco too and more friends who worked for and were abused by camco. There is no lie I will not know about so go away.

To start with I have first hand knowledge of sCAMCOS lies and tactics these lowlife scumbags scared My wife to death with threars of going to jail over a check 20 years in the past.
To make one thing perfectly clear if I owed a Dollar and sCamco tried to collect I would spend $10.00 on a Cease and disist letter a Dozen times before I would send these lowlifes anything.
If Scamco Contacts you It does not matter if the debt is legit or not (wich it is not) you may still send them a cease and disist order. The letter is a simple way of telling them to kiss youre butt. once again it makes no diffrence if the debt is valid you can send a cease and disist letter to any collection agency at any time you want!
Thank you Scott for being a thorn in the sides of these bottom feeders your doing a great job
Ron? Ron who, O ya some scumbag nobody ever heard of working for a bunch of lowlifes with no morals.

scott, do you not have anything better to do that post comments on this site. it seems as though you live on here.
There is one specific thing I thought stood out from your little insert above, CAMCO doesn't just collect on time barred debts, we (I personaly) have many accounts from the year 2000 and up. All the vehicle reposessions are still on the credit and chances are about 90% of them are still in stats, bottem line, CAMCO is a legit company, can and will collect on these accounts, and you can ramp and rave all you want...but CAMCO will not go away!

Camco ONLY collects on time barred debts. You owe them nothing and their threats are empty and baseless. Send a cease and desist letter telling them to never contact you again certified mail return receipt requested. You may also find one of my posts by scrolling down for more information. If they continue to call you can tape the phone conversation without their knowledge because Virginia is a 1 party consent taping state. You can then go to naca.net to find an attorney who specializes in fdcpa law or can file suit yourself as long as 1)you have proof a cease and desist letter was sent and 2)you have them on tape breaking the c/d and letting them know it was broken and they choose to ignore it(which idiots like Aaron will do).

They can legally collect. They may not threaten you or your credit
AUTHOR: Lifter - (U.S.A.)

Bad news...
It's legal (in most states) for a company to
collect on ANY debt that is past SOL or
"written off".
HOWEVER,
They may not threaten you or your credit.
They can not sue you.
They must stop calling you if you request
IN WRITING that they no longer contact you.
DO NOT EVER PAY CAMCO A PENNY!
Payment of any kind will re-activate the statutes
on that account and then they can truly make
your life miserable.
You're one of the FEW folks that actually has
a valid account with sCAMCO. Most are fabrications
, already paid or settled in BK.
If you want to research the paper trail, call
CAMCO and ask them who they bought the debt from,
then call that company and so on.
The statutes for your state are most likely listed
on the net. Just do a search.
IF sCAMCO has broken any laws you MUST document
the date, time and person.
Find out if your state allows tape recording for
evidence or if it's a two party consent state.
Proof is good.
DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO CAMCO NO MATTER
WHAT THEY DO OR SAY. PERIOD.
