The Devious Capital Choice Credit Card Scam

In late November, I received a credit card application that seemed to be too good to be true.

The approval certificate stated that I was eligible to get a credit card with a $5000 limit with a 0% APR for a year. All I had to do was send in a $39 membership fee and the card would be sent in the mail.

This dollar amount seemed reasonable because many companies have annual fees so I had no problem sending in my $39. However,there was no telephone number in the application letter and this worried me. There was, in small print, at the bottom of the letter a disclaimer stating, "This approval guarantee is fully enforceable under applicable laws."

This statement made me feel more at ease. Unfortunately, because this letter was sent during the hectic holiday season, I dismissed any worries, didn't perform any research, and decided to mail the letter.

Well, it has been 3 weeks since I sent my money, and I've received nothing. This really infuriates me, because as a student, that $39 dollars meant a week's worth of food or another Christmas present for a family member.

The Capital Choice Credit card is a scam and should be shut down immediately so other innocent people stop sending their hard earned money to this ripoff company.
