In May of 2002 I received a call describing a "credit card" that would have a $5000.00 that would help me improve my credit rating. I was told I had 30 days to review and there would be free gas and other benefits for just trying this offer. I said Yes, and received the packet of information. Upon review of this packet, I had found it was not a credit card, but a debit card that would be deducting purchases directly from my checking account. I was no longer interested, and called Capital 1st immediately to cancel that and any other affiliated offer. I was told that my order was cancelled and I needed to send in the packet.

A few days later, in review of my checking account, I saw two deductions, one for $99.95 and the other for $59.95. These were transactioned on 5/20/2002 with the reference number of 1-866-892-6018. I never signed up for whatever these charges are for and cancelled all affiliated offers (which was a real pain in itself.) I was very distressed over the entire process, and the fact that they swindled this money from me.

Upon sending in my cancellation packet, the beginning of June, they confirmed and stated the packet was received on 6/13/2002 (in time according to their refund policy.) I have not received the refund, as of late June, so I called. I did not receive it in July and called twice. I called again in August 14, talked with a supervisor (Joseph, Operator number 034). Joseph told me to expedite my refund, I needed to send a copy of the shipping label and have my home phone, etc. listed on the fax. I paid a fax service and they tried 84 times to send this fax (even overnight!) and the fax was never available. So again, I called on August 23 at 11:25 a.m. and talked with another supervisor, (Eric, operator number 042), and he gave me another fax number. I also asked to talk to his manager, he said they were not authorized to talk on the phone. I asked for a contact at corporate, and he said they did not accept in-bound calls. Upon having this second fax number, I got the same results. No availability.

I feel I was wronged and $159.60 was stolen from me, along with countless hours of trying to just get my refund and getting no where. I am very frustrated and upset and would greatly appreciate anything your organization can do to investigate this company, and help me get what is mine from them.

THEY ARE WORSE THAN COOMON THUGS AS AT LEAST COMMON THUGS..YOU KNOW THEIR INTENT IT TO STEAL AND ROB. THIS BUSINESS POSES AS ONE THAT WILL HELP YOU, WHEN ALL THEY DO IS HURT YOU MORE. I HOPE THEY ALL GO TO HELL.
