They will send you an offer for a credit card to transfer debt from another card, the offer says, no catches, no cons, for every $1000 you transfer you will pay $7 flat rate. No fees, no kidding. Tired of paying high interest rates? Why not pay a flat fee for only $7 for every $1000 you transfer. This is a rip off, as soon as you get your first bill instead of it being $77 for 11,000 that I had transferred, it was $330 of interest for one month. This is a con, when you call them you can't get through and when you finally do they tell you to read the fine print that it says $7 or 3% whichever is greater, well there you have instead of $77 it is $330. Thanks A lot Capitol One Credit Card, we will move our money back out today.

Perhaps you should have read the fine print...

before you acted. It is not responsible to act on any "offer" before you actually know what all the terms and conditions are. If you would have read all the "fine print", then you would have had all the facts before you acted.
How can you say that it is a rip-off when they tell you in advance in writing as to their terms and conditions?
Always read before you sign - then you won't have any surprises.
This is not to say that I don't think the 3% fee amount seems a bit excessive, because I do.
