Carree Annette Harper spoke with me on the phone and demanded that if I wanted a consultation, I had to pay her 2000.00 dollars UP FRONT, IN CASH, before she would speak to me. Now I understand everyone has to make a living, but in many cases, attorneys who work on contingency-basis, like she claimed to, do NOT charge for consults. especially such an unreasonable mount. But I was desperate and she had promised, yes promised, on the phone, to take my case on contingency basis.
So she made an appointment for me to go see her at 2 o'clock the next day. And note that she repeatedly told me that if I couldn't make it, to call her ahead of time and let her know.
Well guess what? The next day, when I made the painful effort to get all the money together and drive over 3 hours to get to her Beverly Hills office(which I later discovered is just a FRONT for her and that she does not officially work there, but only sometimes shows up, because , in reality, she has NO ofiice), she NEVER showed up!
She had no decency to call me ahead of time, OR AT ALL PERIOD, to tell me that she'd never show up.
So I got there and her very rude receptionist just shrugged her shoulders. Oh, wait, first the receptionist told me that Harper was in(a lie and a scam) and then required me to pay the 2 thousand dollars CASH. So I innoccently paid. But then . AFTER she took the money, she told me that Harper wasn't in and had not called in to say when she'd come.
WHAT?
I asked for my money back, but she said it was non-refundable.
WHAT? You mean I just got robbed?!
Well, yes, of course.
I sat ther for another 2 hours, but No Harper.
I had to keep on and on asking the receptionist to call her on her cell phone. Then the receptionist said that Harper had asked not to be disturbed and besides, she declared, she was not really HER receptionist, but just helping her out occassionally.
So why did you take my only money that I had in the world? Because, she declared, miss Harper had earlier told her to.
I was in shock and about to vomit. I again asked for my money back. But she refused to return my money. And never did see Harper.
I walked to the other portion of the second-floor office and asked other occupants if they'd seen Harper. They didn't even know who Harper was.
Another attorney did walk up to me, because he had overheard, and said that Harper doesn't really work here----AND, HE SAID, HARPER HAD DONE THIS SAME THING TO SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE AND THAT I BETTER SEEK LEGAL RECOURSE AGAINST HER.
Oh my God.
Then he tried to call her many times. She finally answered her cell, only to tell him to tell me(lie) that she was in a so-called "press conference", but then she changed her mind and told him to tell me she had a "family issue", and would not be in. So she couldn't have called me and told me not to come then?
She was full of lies. I know all this, because the other lawyer had put her on speakerphone the whole time---which she didn't know.
I was so upset and sickened, that I almost threw up.
I never did get any of my money back.

I am still devastated.
Please do not hire this attorney.
This attorney is a manipulator and knows how to act with sympathy in order to trick people into paying her----but then she'll disappear and you'll never get a hold of her.

I am glad you filed a report. I am another victim. She is even suing me because I tried to get my money back, and is saying a slandered her at this sight when I only told the truth. Thank you.
