I went to carmax since they had the vehicle i wanted. When i got there the car was gone.but i did accept an alternate vehicle. they ran my credit and wanted too much down. I am on disability,so saving money is difficult. they waould have new stuff, so keep looking, they said.

I went in every other week to see what they had. and they ran my credit every time. I have to omit a lot of info as to not distract. It took 3 monthes to find a car, and then they said my credit had two many requests and it drug my score down.( they were the only ones who ran it, repeatedly every other week when i hoped to buy a car.)And the money toward my van went down by 100. I begged to speak with GM. who said he would do the loan but i must buy today.

the sales man said " its late, lets run this car".but they needed me to pay my cable bill down. I needed til monday (from sat). all of a sudden they will hold a car for me.I went back mon and we closed the deal"bring it back within 5 days and we will put you in something else"  I now owned a 2007 caliber. no power anything, not even a cigarette lighter.Nothing about it.sunroof etc.

being disabled i wanted power everything, especially windows and seats. I simply wanted something I wanted.

to cut it short. No exchange, and i now bought an 8ooo dollar car for 13000. We put the maintenance plan in there to drive the loan value up. 3.9 years later i still owe 12000 on it. because my score was down, i was hit with interest pretty hard.I went to try to trade it, and the salesman really verbally pounded me until he found out i bought it there. then he called his manager and disappeared. the manager said i was too upside down.. I would need about 5 or 6 thousand down.

oh yeah, the original salesman told me "pay for a year or so on time and get your score, then santander will refi for you".. after 16 monthes i talked to them about that, and they told me that they NEVER refi their own loan.. So i still pay my 373 a month and pray for the lottery.

is there anyone out there who may have a similar story, i understand that a civil suit is not out of the question.  Thanx for reading.  about the credit card usage, they absolutely would not accept a cr card or a check.

I agree with the first poster, carmax ruined my credit as well due to running it multiple times and thier finance company won't finance another loan for me even though i have payed the last 14 payments 1 to 2 weeks early. Carmax is the very 1st comany that would not work with me on another loan. I am so upside down on my car i am stuck with it, i can very well understand that a dealer needs to make a profit however carmax sells all of their cars $7000.00 and above actual value and as far as i am concerned it is unethical.

Not to mention the 125 point inspection is a total joke, i have $6000.00 in invoices from the first two months of my ownership to prove it. And i also agree regarding the class action...lets get started!!

Insanity

Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein.

Seriouly the only RipOff here is the one you did to yourself.  Why would you go back time after time knowing the run your credit.  Did you really think that your situation would change that much that you all of the sudden would be able to qualify for a car?

It is very interesting how you keep "cutting it short" on the most important parts.  For example, you say that you bought the car on Monday and they said bring the car back within 5 days.  So what happened in that 5 days?  Did you bring it back?  Did they try to get you in something else?

i understand that a civil suit is not out of the question.

- How exactly do you understand that?

about the credit card usage, they absolutely would not accept a cr card or a check.

- What about the CC usage.  This is the first time you mentioned anything about a credit card or check.

When you test drove and inspected the car...

Did it have power seats and windows and a lighter?  If not, why did you buy it?

Sounds like you're a deadbeat to have to deal with Santander.

"the sales man said " its late, lets run this car".but they needed me to pay my cable bill down."

You're buying a car and you're behind on your cable bill...right?  How many other bills were you a "little late" on?

" So i still pay my 373 a month and pray for the lottery."

Keep praying for that lottery win and don't be responsible with your finances and I predict a bleak financial future for you.
