Cataldo Ambulance Services Will not transport injured parties if told by the police department even if you have major medical problems Somerville, Massachusetts

I wrote a letter to Cataldo Ambulance Service below and this is the response they sent me. They were told by the police department that I DID NOT need medical attention although I suffered cracked ribs on the left side, a huge bruise under my left nipple, and 2 bruises on both of my wrists caused by my ex-domestic partner. I showed them the injuries but the officer in charge told them "...he does not need medical attention. He is being arrested.". I think someone should figure out who is covering who; Cataldo Ambulance, Chelsea Fire Department or the Chelsea Police Department. My ex-partner beats me up and does all this damage to me, I defend my self by grabbing him off of me and his t-shirt ripped. As he runs through the house that I have a gun. How would anyone feel to have 3 police officers pull guns on you when you don't even own one?

Dear Cataldo Ambulance Services,

I am writing about the above matter in this email. I would like to take this time to let Cataldo Ambulance know that on 2/16/12 at about between 0915-0930 AM my ex-partner, () had called 9-1-1 stating an incident of domestic violence between he and I. I also called 9-1-1 to report to the Chelsea Fire dispatcher of the injuries inflicted by ()

When officers from the CPD along with the CFD and Cataldo EMS arrived I showed the injuries, 2 bad bruises to my wrists, a big bruise under my left nipple and to my left rib cage (the injury to my rib cage did not heal until mid March 2012). The sergeant on the scene, (Gonzalez) and the officer (Bunk) told your EMS employees that I was in no need of medical attention and that I was garnering attention to avoid being arrested.

On 2/18/12 and 2/19/12 I was at Massachusetts General Hospital  because I did not feel safe because of what () did to me. The official police report from the hospital states what () did to me and I have very compelling color photographs of the injuries. I believe that Cataldo EMS was instructed not to have me seek medical attention on the part of the officers on the scene. It is making me wonder if there is some reason that since I was being arrested that I could not seek medical attention ? I suffer from a metabolic (fatty liver) disorder and other medical problems that could have caused severe injury to my internal organs. Of course, your EMS was ordered NOT to allow me to seek medical attention by the two Chelsea PD
officers.

Please take this email as a formal complaint against Cataldo for not following protocol. I do not really care if I was being arrested, I needed medical attention at that time. I am also seeking recourse against the CPD/CFD and Mr. () himself in a different matter. I would like a FAXED (781-293-2112) and mailed letter sent to me stating what went wrong with this call for service and any feedback from your EMS crew that was called to this incident.

On a sad note, I am the one being the domestic violence survivor had to be pulled into the deceit caused by () Please tell me where I can send a copy of the police report with the GRAPHIC pictures too. I believe Cataldo will do the right thing and have an internal investigation and have a meeting with the appropriate Chelsea departments as well. I am allowing 10 business days from today to hear back from you.

I guess if you are the real victim you get arrested and refused medical treatment because the officers need to "punish" someone.
