I purchased their product 320GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive through the online store www.ecost.com . The Cavalry Storage inc. promised a rebate for this item. This company's rebate instructions did not explain about submitting E-MAIL SALES RECEIPT. I did mail sales receipt that arrived with my product in the box in order to recive my rebate.

After 8 weeks i checked on their web site status of my rebate. It was written, that my rebate was denied because of lack of sales receipt. I contacted company's representative over the phone. They said i did not provide them with sales recept. They said i was supposed to FIGURE IT OUT myself that i had to print out my E-MAIL SALES RECEIPT from www.ecost.com. Instead i sent them sales receipt that arrived with my product in the box. In their instructions there are no explanatins on this!

After my rebate was denied, they said they can not resubmit my e-mail sales receipt because of their policy. I said about submitting the same type of sale receipt from Ecost (arrived in the box with item) to different company and getting approved for the rebate. They said , that different company does different way. This is a well managed trick to scam customers and not to pay them any rebates!

BE AWARE OF SCAM REBATES FROM CAVALRY STORAGE INC.! Don't buy their hard drive with a promised rebate, they will find the way to trick you!! I am looking for another "tricked" customers to file a class action lawsuit against Cavalry Storage Inc.. I purchased their hard drive in the begining of April 2007.

Sales receipt vs Packing slip

AUTHOR: Cobra - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 27, 2008

This is not a problem with Calvary, this is a common mistake many people make with ANY rebate.

What you get with the product, when ordering online, is a packing slip NOT a sales receipt. The sales receipt is what you get when you complete you checkout during purchase, and usaully in your email as well.

In the future, you should always register with the site you are ordering from so you can go back and print the sales receipts for you orders anytime.

If you order an item over the phone, you DO get the sales receipt, along with the packing slip, in the package. This is common practice.

I talk to a superviser who deals with rebates in Cavaltry Storage Inc. today. She was informed about my rebate denial. She basically repeated same words as customer rep. told me a day before that i did not submit original sales receipt. She said everyone is placing orders online at Ecost and then submits a printed e-mail confirmation as a sale receipt. But, when i asked her how do customers who placed orders over the phone and who don't have a computer (to receive an e-mail with sales proof).....how do they get the original sales receipt?? she had NO ANSWER on my question. Because they don't get an e-mail, they get sales receipt together with the product in the mail!!!! When i asked her for any other ways to settle my rebate issue, she said there are no other ways. I said about filing a complaint with FTD, she said : Very good! Goodbye!....and hanged up on me.

Another moment : the only e-mail notification i received was a Google Checkout e-mail...it did not indicate that i purchased product at Ecost.
If i would sent this printed e-mail, they would find another reason to deny rebate...because e-mail doesn't have proof that hard drive was purchased at Ecost. This specific rebate was only for hard drive sold on the Ecost.com

Now, you see how deceiving this Cavalry Storage Inc. rebate is?? It's a well managed rebate scam. I read on other forum that person submitted both sales receipts (printed e-mail and receipt that arrived with product in the mail) and rebate was denied anyway!!! The reason was indicated as lack of original sales receipt from Ecost.com

So what is the original sales receipt from Ecost? Anyone has any answer for me? Anyone had similar problem? I definitly would never deal will Ecost and Cavalry Storage Inc. in my life.
