After filing my first report of fraud by this company, I have located a cell phone number and email address for Graham D. Gibson. I have also spoken with the City Attorney in Tempe and with the Attorney General of the State of Arizona. I will be filing a report with the Attorney General. You may do the same by going to their website - azag.gov - and doing the same.

Mr. Gibson was arrogant enough to get himself involved in fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis chapter in Tempe. And they provide his email and cellphone on their page. Here it is - go ahead and call the creep on his cellphone and email him to death. He deserves it. 805.403.8992. Yes, he did live in Santa Barbara for a time, and still may for all I know. Email - graham@centralcoastnutra.net.

Here's a little background on our friend as well (courtesy of the Cystic Fibrosis site):

Graham D. Gibson
President & CEO, Central Coast Nutraceuticals, Inc.

"Graham was born and raised in Southern California. He moved to Santa Barbara in 1994 for college. He received his degree in Biological Sciences from Westmont College in 1998. Graham spent many years as a sales representative for various companies in the technical and/or medical fields, including medical device, pharmaceutical, and plastic surgical device sales. In 2004, Graham retired from corporate America to start Central Coast Nutraceuticals, the name reflecting the location of the company's headquarters. Based on his knowledge in the pharmaceutical industry, Graham was determined to develop natural products as a first-line therapy for certain medical conditions. Graham moved CCN out to Tempe, AZ in 2006. With over 30 employees and a projected gross volume in 2008 of over 40 million dollars, CCN has grown to be one of the largest direct-to-consumer companies in the natural products health sector. With CFF, Graham plans to devote a portion of his free time to helping out in the local community. He hopes that his experience will further open up his and his employee's minds on giving back to the community that has given back so much to them. CCN will be also be donating a portion of all net income proceeds to the foundation in an effort to raise more money for research and development."

And, btw, any smarmy little customer service rep wants to call me instead of posting over here - you go right ahead. Your boss is on his way to jail, honey, if I have anything to do with it. Have a nice day.

AG ARIZONA HAS FINED CENTRAL COAST FOR $1,375,000.

AUTHOR: Mewsical - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 17, 2010

I'm not sure why anyone is still bothering with this bogus company.  The Attorney General of the State of Arizona has acted against them, and I received a letter to that effect.  Please contact their offices - the Attorney General - and advise them that they are still active.  The phone number is in my previous post.

Here's a copy of the release from the AG's office regarding the $1.5M settlement reached with Central Coast in June 2009:

"Terry Goddard Announces $1,375,000 Settlement with Online Nutrition Company (Phoenix, Ariz. June 25, 2009) Attorney General Terry Goddard today announced a record $1,375,000 settlement with Central Coast Nutraceuticals, Inc. (CCN) and its owner, Graham Gibson, of Phoenix. The settlement resolves a consumer fraud lawsuit that alleged deceptive online sales practices by CCN. Under the terms of todays settlement, which takes the form of a Consent Judgment, CCN will pay $1 million in civil penalties to the state, $350,000 in consumer restitution and $25,000 to cover the states legal and investigative costs. After receiving hundreds of consumer complaints, Goddard brought the lawsuit against CCN in December 2008. In it he alleged that CCN used a variety of deceptive tactics marketing low-cost risk-free" trial offers of health supplements. According to the complaints, consumers who purchased the low-cost risk-free trial offers of CCNs health supplements were also charged for costly products and services that they did not request. These included pre-selected up-sell products that the consumer had to actively de-select in the online order form to avoid being charged. When consumers tried to contact CCN regarding the unauthorized charges, they often faced hold times over an hour and their e-mails never received a response. In addition to the financial settlement, the agreement prohibits CCN from violating the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act. It also requires the company to clearly disclose to consumers the consequences involved with ordering a trial product from CCN. Especially In todays tough economy, companies cannot use deceptive online advertisements and sales practices to charge customers for products and services they did not agree to pay for, Goddard said. I am working to ensure that companies use the web to enhance consumers buying experiences, not to mislead them to increase company profits. Consumers who believe they were the victim of CCNs deceptive marketing must file a complaint with the Arizona Attorney Generals Office by close of business on Monday, August 17 to be eligible for restitution from the settlement. If consumers have already filed a complaint with this office, they will be included in the pool of eligible consumers. We encourage any Office of the Attorney General Page 2 affected consumers who have not already done so to file a formal complaint with our office. A complaint form can be found on our website at www.azag.gov. Assistant Attorney General Cherie Howe handled this case. "
