Century 21 Dinkel - Property Management Renee Harvey Unethical, dishonest and false billings Thornton California

Renee Harvey runs her property management business with wrongful, improper and unjustified charges. Her husband is a repairman and she has him do many miscellaneous repairs under the contract amount of $150 without invoices or justification. They are multiple $35 to $80 charges,(with some of the work done by a young man who the tenants say used the wrong caulk)that add up when done multiple times. When the charges showed up on the monthly statements, Renee was asked why something was done or to provide a invoice. She usually took 1 to 2 months to respond (or never to this day on some items)or get very defensive and say she did not need to provide the information.

When the previous tenents left, the house was not cleaned, nor does it appear examined by the property management team as a patio door was terribly damaged, door nobs pulled off, wood trim pulled from the wall, etc... and none of this was repaired, much less taken from the security deposit. This was not normal wear and tear. The house was vacant in July and did not get cleaned until September (on the day the tennants were suppose to move in)Therefore I paid for 2 plus months of advertising on a property that was not cleaned for showings AND I was charged for the cleaning.

When given a 2 month cancellation notice, she immediately dropped her services (which was fine by me)and told the tenents, she was fired and left them to wonder about their living circumstances. She would not talk to us any longer. So my questions are still not answered and many repairs that should have been taken out of the previous tenets deposit, will be done out of my pocket. This includes electrical work (I assume because it could not be done by her husband) and plumbing (of which the caulking was done multiple times to hide an underlying problem, which again would not be done by her husband).

Renee did not communicate well with the tenets either, as many requests were ignored or done many months later with the excuse that they culd not get ahold of us, yet here we were trying to call and talk with Renee many times a month, and was told they would get back to us later.

This was my first time doing this and we thought by going with a larger company, everything would be done more professionally. We were wrong and have gone with a small group who is communicating as needed (and more so) and helped both (the owners) and the tenets feel much more secure and happy with the current arrangements.

Renee has many other properties that she is probably doing the same thing to them as well. I hope they start looking closer and question some of the fradulent costs.
