I have been dealing with CRS for about two months now. Some time ago, I took out a payday loan. Unfortunately I didn't pay it back... and I don't deny that at all... When the calls started, they were really intimidating. I couldn't get a word in edge-wise! Not only that, they kept asking if I had an attorney that they could speak to. I'm assuming they do that because they know that the FTC's rules state that they should speak to an attorney... but let's face it, if I had an attorney on "standby" would I have been taking out a pay day loan?

I told the lady that I didn't have the money, but that I would have it in two weeks... that wasn't acceptable! The client wanted ALL their money RIGHT NOW and I was going to have to get it or they would take it through further processing. Then they threatned to call my job "to verify my employment". Of course, since this was my first time dealing with them I was TERRIFIED!

I called her Monday and told her I didn't have the money... I have her a date in March and I paid $300 via their website on the date I promised... that wasn't good enough! I told them I would pay the balance by a date April, and that's still not good enough... so BEWARE, nothing you say to these people will be good enough! They're out for the money and that's it! and they will harass the he** out of you until you pay it! I told one of the ladies who called me... "you people are really good at what you do! you must have a high success rate!"

Personally, I'm ignoring them until the date that I stated... one thing is for sure, I can't wait to be rid of them!!!

If you're having the same trouble, hang in there and do whatever you can to get them paid off... They even ASK for post dated checks! NOT... I went to their web site and submitted my payment that way (even though the person I spoke to said I couldn't do that)!!! These people are liars and all they care about is the money!

That's why the Bible said that we should owe no man anything except to love him.

First of all did you check to see if Certified Recovery is licensed to collect in your state? If they are not licensed, what they are doing is illegal. (Check with your state Department of Banking and Financial Institutions.) If they are not licensed in your state, usually your state Department of Financial Institutions will either call or write them, and they will have to cease calling you.

Do not listen to any of their threats. They will use the oldest tricks in the book.

Also send them a cease and desist letter stating that they are to no longer call you at home or at work. Send it certified return receipt, and be sure to keep a copy for yourself. If they don't quit calling you, they are in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Good luck, and try to stay away from payday loans. I learned my lesson the hard way. I will never get another payday loan again.
