When I set up my telephone service with Charter, I was told by the representative setting up my service that it would not be listed or published. I went along for almost a year when I received a phone call from someone looking for an individual with my same last name that my telephone number and address was out on the internet. This couldn't be the company said that it wouldn't be anywhere. But low and behold I looked it up and there it was! I called the company and complained. I spoke with a supervisor who said that she was going to give me a new phone number that would correct this problem. I was given a new number on a Monday.

Within one day telemarketers were calling me and they knew my first and last name. When asked how they received this information, they responded from my list. I immediately called Charter to complain again. The supervisor that I spoke with this time said that he did not know what happened but was going to take my complaint directly over to engineering because something had to be wrong on that end. He assured me that they would call me back and let me know what happened. Here it is a week later and guess what I get another call from Dish Network, they know my first and last name and call me to solicit there services.

At this point I'm seriously thinking yes, I have bundled services with Charter and cable is always screwed and now my phone is too.

I call Charter immediately, at this point I am furious. I ask for a supervisor, I am connected with a lovely uppitty, righteously indignant person named Tanya her ID # 92043. I explain to Tanya what I have been going through and ask her what the hell is going on. She goes off, stating that if I continue to speak to her unprofessionally, then she will terminate my call. I said excuse me I had no idea that the word hell was so offensive. She again in her antagonist demeanor stated that she spoke with attorney's and she didn't have to listen to this kind of talk. I told Tanya that I, infact would be the one terminating the call because of her attitude to me, her customer. Long story short the most miniscule request cannot be handled by this company.

I still have no idea why my phone number is listed when I pay for an unlisted/unpublished number. And God forbid the customer get frustrated and say a terrrible word describing what this vendor has been putting you through (hell) because the vendor has empowered their employees to go off on unfounded tangents on their customers. Well Tanya, I've been talking to some lawyers too. And guess what? Oh and by the way Dish? Yes, I think so, Thanks Charter, oh and definitely new phone and internet too.
