CHASE LIQUID CARD  - THE FIRST PREPAID CARD NOT FOR CONSUMERS WITH POOR CREDIT. THE BIGGEST INSULT TO INJURY OF THE WORLD'S BIGGEST BANK. AN EMBARASSING WASTE OF TIME.

Establish: The prepaid debit card is a card without check writing prividges and operates on only the CASH that is deposited onto the card offering the small banks that offer these the opportunity to capitalize on the regular fees associated with a checking account but with NO RISK.

1. Decided to go to into a Chase branch to aquire the Liquid Prepaid Debit Card after it being heavily promoted on Google.com.

2. After getting there, they not only are able to open the Liquid Card but any bank account I want, which was strange considering just a year or so before they would not open the account. So naturally, I decide to open the checking account instead, really made no difference but why settle for a prepaid card when you can get the real thing.

3. I get my card in 7 days and everything seems fine and then 3 days later they just close the account. Reasons provided were a former negative history with Wells Fargo. So suffice to say they are still utilizing past history as a credit check but instead of denying on the spot are now denying the account later after wasting peoples time. In most cases that would still be an individuals fault except that it doesn't matter what they open including the Liquid Pre-Paid Card. And that is because..

4. I went back into the branch to open just a Liquid Prepaid Card and once again, they were systematically able to but after making a phone call now that I was on their system, central did clarify that no relationship was possible, even with a prepaid card.

Chase bank Guerilla solicitations

AUTHOR: ripped again - ()

POSTED: Friday, May 31, 2013

No matter how vehemently I complain to them about unwanted phone calls, mailings, etc they always take the offensive on people and completely back up their brethren.

It is my fault after all that I do not like to be harrassed.

When I had their card I did not like it, as they offered nothing for the use of the card, like many places do.

When I tried to cancel it, they assured me I was "off the database" even though I STILL get calls and mailings.

this institution really SUCKS

Deadbeat Ownership of this Market

AUTHOR: Rudy - ()

POSTED: Thursday, May 16, 2013

Listen, bottom line is: We deadbeats OWN this prepaid card and this prepaid market. Do not advertise pre-paid debit card for which we would not qualify. It not only makes you all look like fools throwing money away, but we all rue the day we have to walk into a branch and look like scumbags once more, only in my case it was worse because when they closed my account I had to wonder if I would even get the CASH out of my account which was "at the branch managers discretion" and it wasn't quick. And yes, I felt like a scumbag and yes, I'm sure he thought I was too.

Profit Clarification

AUTHOR: Rudy - ()

POSTED: Thursday, May 16, 2013

Absent of the 'check deposit feature risk, provided funds are not held until actually cleared and I'll assume they are not, it is a card that has no traditional overdraft fees (unless a purchase cushion is made available and I'll assume it is), as is the case with the biggest prepaid provider which makes that cushion available at no additional charge and no overdraft fee, which I doubt Chase makes available one way or another, you do have essentially free ATM withdrawls via their network of ATM's not to mention branch access.

Absent of anticipated bouce check deposit fees and unadjudicated purchase cushion purchases, you would likely in either case or both cases still see those traditional fees for which are the antithesis of a 'Pre-Paid card' as has been established for over a decade and quite frankly make this an odd choice for a pepaid debit card and misleading for anyone regardless of status in choosing this prepaid card. However, absent the ATM withdrawl fees you can bet that Chase makes less than any other prepaid debit card bank and could literally put every major prepaid debit card bank out of business offering a no nonsense prepaid card even with debit card ATM fees and no check depositing, as could be an option for those that can not qualify for a bank account. It is an odd exclusion and highly insulting and misleading and stupid.

Weird

The Chase Liquid so-called prepaid card. (which likely does not eliminate the overdraft/bounce deposit fees, which makes a pre-paid marketable over a regular checking account).

I'll venture an opinion and state that due to increasing exodus of customers in traditional high-fee checking accounts to prepaid cards that Chase has invented a hybrid pre-paid card as a means to keep quality customers. This prepaid card is nothing of the kind, and unlike any other prepaid card would not eliminate these fees, particularly in the case of Bounced check deposits. For this reason this is no pre-paid card in the sense that a person who could get a checking account would choose to migrate to a prepaid card, and for this reason it is misleading.

Yes, a prepaid card, all visa/mc/amex prepaid cards with the exception of Gift Cards accept direct deposits as a no-risk cash alternative for depositing guarnateed liquid no-risk funds into the account. That's nothing new. But a nice advertising gimmick to indicate a rebranding of the old basic features that have been around forever with now check depositing (which effectively kills the card to those individuals who would want them the most, for no other reason than not having to hold a lousy deadbeat branded card).

I have been in the prepaid card third-rate market for a long time, and there are NO banks that offer a prepaid card with check deposit capability, with now only the exception of Chase and whatever other banks that actually can make a profit with something so absurd as an alternative to an individual that can get a regular checking account. Check deposits rather than check writing, due to the funds expedited availability requirements by Law are a risk to a bank, and defy the concept of a prepaid card vs. a traditional bank checking account debit card.

Simply pit I stipulate that Chase has added features onto a marketed 'Pre-paid debit card' to create a new breed of prepaid card due to the likely exodus of customers from their horrible overdraft fee policies, that would put the bank in a risk position (provided the banks havn't found a way to hold said checks until they clear or "special holds" for that "special card", though without the overdraft fee the banks have been accustomed to (and accustomed to - to the tune of tens of billions of dollars a year on $1 overdrawn soda purchases) I cannot imagine what these banks would hope to get from a customer living paycheck to paycheck with a prepaid card and no overdraft fees, except unless they found a way to snake that fee somehow on an optional feature for a (prepaid debit card), which wouldn't surprise me.

Oh well back to the deadbeat prepaid cards. Incidentally, I wonder if this prepaid card could rent a car.

Incorrect

PrePaid debit cards DO NOT just accept cash.  Many of them are now accepting many other forms of payments incluing direct deposits and checks.  This includes the Chase Liquid Card, and I underlined some important information below that cae directly from their site.

Loading money to your Chase Liquid Card is quick and easy. You can automatically load your paycheck, government benefit check, or tax refund onto your card by enrolling in Direct Deposit. You can load checks using Chase QuickDepositSM on your mobile device, load cash or checks to your card at over 11,500 Chase DepositFriendlySM ATMs, 24/7, or load money at any Chase branch. All without hassles and at no additional charge.

So basically your entire premise is wrong, and instead of looking for people to blame for you not being able to get one of these cards.  Perhaps you should look in the mirror and see who the real problem is because of your failure to take care of your past issue(s).  Oh..let me guess your issue with Wells Fargo wasn't your fault either.
