We had a solicitor come to our door.  First, he tricked us in to letting him in by asking us if we use Kleenex.  When we said that we did he asked us if he could give us a demonstration and free sample.  We said "yes" and he went outside to bring back a huge box!  He said "yes, it's kind of big. hee hee" and the pulled out a Kirby vacuum!  He was high pressure and kept saying that he could go lower if we needed him to but "this was a great deal!"  He said that he would take our old vacuum and credit us $100-200 for it and then the company would re-furb it and send it to Haiti for a program that they were doing. 

After he left we went over the contract only to find out that there was a 24% interest rate that he never mentioned!  We would have had to pay 1/4 of the price of the vacuum to interest alone.  We decided at that point we didn't want it and over-night the cancellation form the very next day.  You only have 3 days to do so!!  We got a call the next day from a girl trying to persuade us to keep the vacuum at a lower price.  At this time we could tell they were shady so we said "no, please return our own vacuum to us." 

A week later we called to see where our vacuum was because we still didn't have it and the girl said that they lost it but would happy to replace it with a better vacuum.  My husband told her he didn't want a vacuum that had been used by someone else and then given to them to throw away.  She promised that they refurb them, clean them professionally, etc. and that it would be a better one than the one we gave them.

We had to wait for another week and a half before we even got the "replacement" vacuum.  The handle is broken, the canister has a lot of dirt, staples and other junk in it!  There is hair wound in both of the attachments and it smells. 

My husband called the girl to tell her that it was unacceptable and was NOT an upgrade and that he wants them to send them a check to us and we would send their crummy vacuum back.  She said that she personally cleaned the machine (but had, in one of the former conversations we had, said that the machines were in their Loveland, CO office!) and that it was NOT dirty.  I have pictures showing the dirt in the canister while it's still half way in the packaging!  She refused to do anything more and said that they have filled their obligations to us.  I then called the girl back to ask her to let me speak to her manager and she insisted that she was the manager.  I told her that I'm sure she has a superior and that I would like the name/number of the person.  She refused to give me any additional information and was continuing to refuse to do anything about this broken, dirty vacuum in my living room.

She (she never tells you her name when she answers the phone) was nice when she called to try to convince us to keep the machine in the first place but changed to become a very unkind, nasty girl and was as soon as I told her that we didn't want to keep it.  She was again, very nice when she called to tell us that they lost our machine and then very nasty again when we called to tell her that the refurb'd replacement she sent us is horrible.

We are now completely without a working, clean vacuum cleaner.  All we have now is a broken, dirty vacuum.

I went through the same thing overnighting the contract back.  The differnce is I had paid them and they still have not refunded my money.  They took my vacuum and when they picked up theirs theydidn't have mine with them.  I told them I wanted it back since mine was new.  They finally got it back to me about three hours later.  They said they keep them locally.  So you got ripped off with the vaccum and I got ripped off with money.  These people should not be allowed to operate anywhere.  I am sorry for what happened to you.
